This is definitely an older inn in need of updating, but it was clean and had a nice, semi private patio/outdoor area. We were in a suite, so I can't comment on the patio of a standard room. I really like the quiet, neighborhood location within short driving/biking distance to the beach.
This was probably the strangest hotel I've ever stayed in - it definitely is more like an inn than a hotel (hence the name I guess). It had all of these separate buildings with a few rooms in each, each room on a separate "quarter floor" meaning they weren't on the same level but not directly above one another, just a short flight of stairs separating each. The only bad thing about this setup is that as we were on the "top floor" we had to lug our very heavy bags up numerous flights of stairs (no elevators). Definitely not a good hotel for people that need an elevator. The room was a good size, though, which was nice. No air conditioning but luckily it was a nice night so we left the sliding door open until we went to bed and used the fan for the rest of the night and that was cool enough. There was a vending machine outside but it didn't take dollar bills so we called down to the front desk to ask if they had change and they told us to come to them and they'd give us free water - they ended up giving us 4 free bottles which was very nice. While there was a sign in the bathroom mentioning water conservation due to the terrible drought the shower was literally like a fire hose as far as water pressure. So much wasted water. Toilet was in a separate little room from the rest of the bathroom which was interesting. There was also a large walk-in closet which housed the closet and the kitchenette as well as a cot if we had needed it. We ordered in food to be delivered which was nice to get the food right to our hotel door. Very close to all of the main tourist attractions in Monterey (the aquarium, 17-mile drive, etc.) It actually is in the middle of a neighborhood so it was very quiet, which I appreciated. While this was a strange little hotel I would definitely stay there again.…
Older condo hotel that could be very good, but mgmt refuses to fix issues or update broken items. Doors that don't close and are broken, thermostats that constantly turn off, near non-existent TV service. Really sad Best Western has their name on this hotel. A real money grab for the owner, shouldn't be under Best Western flag. Employees are underequipped to handle issues and mgmt too afraid to call guests back when needed.
Daisy (front desk) gave us an excellent service. Our room is very clean and relaxing. The bed is very comfortable and we had a quality sleep. We will definitely come back and highly recommend to our friends and family.
Found great stay at a tucked away Best Western in Pacific Grove. Short walk to Asilomar Beach and proximity to Monterey and Carmel. Unit was quiet, bed was comfortable, and suite had a fireplace which made unit more comfortable. A big plus is some of the garage parking spaces have EV charging set up which was a big convenience for us.
The King suite was large with a full size kitchen and a huge balcony. However the kitchen was not fully stocked with utensils and dishes. With the full kitchen I expected it to be stocked like at a timeshare or Airbnb. The other downside was walking into an old dusty smell and sticky carpet. After going to dinner, we stopped at the local market for a scented candle and air freshener spray.
This is our go to place in the Carmel, Monterey, Pacific Grove area. The hotel is located at a very quiet area, right by Asilomar State Beach. Even though we cannot see the ocean, we usually open the window (slightly) to listen to the waves. We usually start the days walking at the beach boardwalk and visit Carmel, Monterey, Laguna Seca, etc. It is our perfect weekend getaway and the EV charging stations in the garages are very convenient too!
Interesting property. It was clearly at one time a condominium or apartment complex transformed into a hotel. Definitely create an interesting stay. Our room was large and it seems like all rooms have a balcony. I could hear the ocean from our room. (Kind of like the ocean from a distance so the waves are more steady white noise than crashing as the noise blends together). Anyway, our room was clean and unique. We have large cathedral ceilings and an odd, bathroom set up. Nothing wrong with it, it really was overall a unique set up! I really enjoyed that aspect. The shower I loved. It was a very very large shower. I felt like a kind because it was so large. I am not sure, but I suspect the rooms are not at all uniform because of the property layout. The staff were fine. I didn’t really have much interaction with them. The few moments I had were fine. The breakfast is a standard hotel breakfast carbohydrate oriented breakfast that nobody will ever say ‘Wow delicious” to. Would I stay at this property again? Yeah, I guess I would. Would I recommend it? Depends. It is in a residential neighborhood, kind of close to the ocean. Kind of depends what you are looking for. it isn’t a far drive from places and is kind of out of the way.…
A lot of room for the money, but this is not a "make it special for you" kind of place. The guy at the front desk is useless. They don't make a big point of it but the "1 king + 1 queen room" is two separate rooms with a bed in each. A great arrangement.
Perfect location along running trail close to asilomar beach, comfortable room with microwave and fridge, and Tesla chargers! Clean room, friendly staff. Looked like basic breakfast. Tired furnishings but super clean.
