Good location close to Asilomar. The fireplace and jacuzzi tub in the cottages is what brings us back. The bed is a little firm and squeaky for my taste, but we have visited 3+ times now because everything else is great.
I Booked a room with breakfast included. Got only a bag with a little muffin, a granola bar and an apple. They offered only coffee and no tea. That’s not what I expected. Also the wifi performance was very low. After this experience I will not stay there again and can not recommend it to my friends. The price- performance ratio does not fit my expiations.
Two families, two rooms, two nights. Great price for the location. Cute, boutique hotel. The rooms were redone not too long ago, but need some attention to detail/finish work. We had ants in our room and the manager was very accommodating to get us a new room. The shower and bathroom area has been updated with new tile and fixtures but they need to finish the door jam and baseboard work which would help keep the pests out. Beds were comfortable. We found the fireplace rooms were a little more worn than the regular rooms. So between the two rooms we had, the regular room was actually nicer. Patio seating was nice to enjoy the fresh air. Breakfast is still a breakfast bag (granola bar, muffins, apple, apple juice), not the buffet as once listed. This place could be a gem with just a lil more simple elbow grease. …
Our go to place to stay when we are in the area. Love the location and staff is always super friendly. This last stay we were there during a big storm and lost all power (city wide power outage). Staff made is feel comfortable and safe the entire time. We still had an amazing trip, even without electricity. We will definitely be back!
We, have stayed here several times, and it has been very consistent. The staff is always helpful, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the pool is fun in the summer. The location is great as well.
No problems at all. The room was spacious and well-appointed. Loved the fireplace, the hot breakfast cooked to order, and the deer outside our slider in the morning! There was some minor wear-and-tear issues visible, but not a real problem. Walking distance to the beach, lighthouse, and downtown area.
We stayed there for two nights. Cute room and nice service. The room was clean. The location is very good, close enough to walk and see the sunshine on the pacific. Also really close to the 17miles ride; this is a must do!!
Great recommendation from friends. Quaint lodge with good location for sightseeing on Monterey peninsula. Walk to ocean bluffs. 2min by car to downtown Pacific Grove. 5min to Cannery Row. Friendly staff.
We were booked here for the weekend and we paid for an outdoor sitting area for our children to be able to play and get some energy out that’s the reason we booked this hotel. > > However when we checked in it was very late last night so they gave us a parking lot room with a very dangerous “sitting area” the manager last night said they were fully booked so we couldn’t have any of the bottom rooms with grass sitting areas tonight but try back in the morning when a few groups check out. This morning my husband went to speak with the front desk about the fireplace not working and the shower door being off track. He was told we were never supposed to get a fireplace room in the first place so don’t worry about that! And about the shower door that’s hanging dangerously unaligned, if our child were to shut the door too hard it could break, they’d send someone up to fix it. > > While playing out on our concrete, dirt, wood board patio my son tripped over a black hose and fell off the concrete wall. I went to speak to your hotel staff about the fact that this is an unsafe room for our 3 and 6 year old sons she told me I should watch my kids better. She was incredibly rude and condescending and said all the rooms were preassigned and other parties want to be next to eachother so there’s nothing she can do. If they’re preassigned why are we in a room with a fireplace when that’s not what I booked? I asked if we could get a refund to find a new hotel since she’s unwilling to help us in anyway and she said I could speak with you and gave me your email. > I’m really hoping this post will help future parents in some way to not book here. I just want my kids to be able to play and have fun on their vacation without getting hurt. On our booking it states 2 kids 2 adults if it’s preassigned i’d think someone would assign children to safer rooms.…
This is a quaint place. I love the cottages, the best, but they are not dog friendly yet the lodge is where we usually stay because we have a small pet. The rooms are big, the basics are there and I like the high ceilings. It would be perfect if they had more of a continental breakfast instead of a paper bag grab and go.
