My spouse and I went to Pacific Grove (5/15/2023) as a family member (who lives in PG) become critically ill and we came to visit to see if we could help. It was an exhausting long drive and long day. We decided to find a cottage for a restful nights sleep. We found Sea Breeze Inn. The outside entry to the office is very dirty and uninviting - the office is unkept and old. The front desk man was rude, not friendly and acted as though we were bothering him. It was before 7pm. He charged us for a handicap room - tho - we are not handicap and it appeared he had several other cottages available as the parking lot was empty. The queen room was very small, old furnishings, soiled window drapes, scratched night stand table and only one light worked. The bathroom (tho clean) had NO hot water, not even warm water. Only cold water. Could not shower. No bath tub. No kitchen or hot plate. No coffee or simple breakfast. We called the office regarding NO hot or even warm water. No response. We were exhausted. We are not familiar with PG and did not have a computer - since it was a rushed/emergency trip. Our fault for not having a computer. The front desk man had no ideas/suggestions on restaurants - so we went to bed. At 8am the next morning - we heard knocking on our front door - the housekeepers unlocked the door and came into our room to clean. We had until 11:00am to vacate - so why are the cleaners coming into our room so early? Why not check the guest list to see who has checked out. Very high price (close to $200) for what it is. Very small, no hot or warm water, no lights, TV not working, no shower door - even if we did have hot water - the water from the shower would have flowed all over the bathroom floor. It was all ONE floor - no way to catch water from the shower. The other Sea Breeze cottages looked inviting from the outside - tho - we'll never book Sea Breeze Inn again.

Room was so small it was hard to open two large suitcases at once. Bathroom was tiny and in poor condition. Only plus is the guy at the front desk who checked us in was super helpful and knowledgeable about the area.

Important to clarify when booking the level of kitchen that comes with a room advertised as having a kitchen (we were put in a room with a hot plate, expecting a stove, and this was the top-end room of this type). Staff is kind, and works to accommodate, and the location is fabulous-walking distance to the shore and town. There is a fair amount of deferred maintenance (peeling paint, wear, rusty gutters, etc.) so the exterior feels a bit drab, and rooms aren't made-up during a multi-day stay, so service feels pretty minimal. None of this would be an issue but for the fact more upscale hotel options are comparably priced. My stay was fine, but I'll book elsewhere next time, and wouldn't necessarily recommend.

This is a perfectly placed hotel/motel. Situated in Pacific Grove its a 5 minute stroll to a stunning Pacific coastline and a 10 minute drive to the beautiful '17 mile drive'. You can walk into downtown where there are many restaurants and shops, or drive 10 minutes into the slightly busier Monterey. The hotel was clean and tidy, although the toilet seat did need repair. We also had problems with the door, but the front desk were very helpful. The room had a large and comfortable bed, a functional bathroom with the sink outside, useful when the wife is in the bath! The area is simply stunning. There were deer wandering around outside the hotel and in gardens, so watch your speed when driving. I'd go back again, I just love the area, a hidden gem.

I had a separate cottage and had hoped for quiet nights. On the first night, a large group gathered out on the common area in front of my space and talked/laughed into the night. There was also a restaurant next door in back of my space (110A) that had loud music, but quit early. No breakfast. Average room. No fan or method of drowning out noise. Ear plugs were ineffective. First and last stay here.

We stayed at the Sea Breeze Inn because our original hotel choice was booked one of the three nights we were staying in Pacific Grove. We stayed in the cutest cottage with an apple tree next to it (#113) that seemed to have been recently updated with fresh paint, new bed and bedding, a fireplace and blackout curtains for the many windows. It also had a nice kitchenette that had all the essentials for cooking, if you chose to. It would be perfect place to stay for a work trip if you needed a place for a week or two! TJ was the hotel manager and was very kind, after a nightmare stay at The Lighthouse Inn (they get their own review!) we went back to the Sea Breeze the next morning and told TJ we were thinking of staying another night in Pacific Grove, but only if the Sea Breeze had vacancy. TJ found us another cottage and since it was available, let us check in right then instead of waiting until 3:00. It was really nice to not have to worry about our luggage in our car for the whole day of being out and about! We are already recommending the Sea Breeze to all of our friends and a couple of them have already been. Staff was very nice and accommodating in room cleaning, extra pillow, etc. Give the Sea Breeze a chance, it's really nice!

Having stayed at Sea Breeze for the previous 3 visits during Car Week Monterey, i was looking forward to 2022 and booked the room in January 2022 for August show. noticed that it was about 20% more then last year but figured was due to Car week where all the area hotels charge 3 times regular rate. this year we discovered that room cleaning was sparse to non existent and no breakfast pack and go as before. both blamed on Covid and work shortage. even paying $450 night, very under staffed and the on site manager was worthless. our room and others we very under staffed and the on site manager was worthless. our room and others were not cleaned the day before check out and surely to cut costs. many unhappy guests. we found out the place sold after long term prior owners. terrible experience and will not return. dont waste your money here ,pick another hotel.

My family has stayed at the Sea Breeze Inn many times over the years. We booked this room months in advance. Sadly, our recent stay will be our last one, for reasons which include: - We were told we would have a room with a fireplace. This did not happen. We were placed in the room nearest to the common fireplace area, and had to deal with loud guests who ignored the 10PM cutoff. - Wifi was not working for most of our stay. Complaints to the front office did not resolve the issue. - Continental breakfast and coffee in the front office are no longer offered. Other places still include this amenity, even after COVID. - Inadequate amount of mugs and glasses for the number of guests on our stay, which was less than the room capacity. We also thought it was strange our room had a kitchen (including a gas stove) but no dining table with chairs (only a coffee cable with a sofa). - From our own interactions, as well as seeing other frustrated guests, the new management is indifferent to customer service issues. Staff was very helpful and attentive, but seemed restricted in how they could assist without incurring the wrath of management. These issues, with our past great experiences at this hotel, are a significant drop in quality, and we will look at other places for future visits to Pacific Grove. There are other and likely better options at this price range.

Very clean on arrival but tired furniture and old bathroom - shower nearly scalded daughter as hard to find the right temperature. Nice kitchen and microwave including fridge freezer although not a lot of storage for food or clothes! TV remote did not work but not too bothered as didn’t spend a lot of time in the hospital place! Only downside was lack of air conditioning as 4 people Staying got warm at night! Lovely area to stay and easy accessible - Staff friendly when asked questions
