WE WERE ABLE TO SPEND A VERY SATISFYING TIME DURING OUR STAY THANKS TO THE WONDERFUL ENVIRONMENT AND THE KINDNESS OF THE EMPLOYEES. THE ENVIRONMENT AROUND THE FAICILITY WAS ALSO WONDERFUL AS IT WAS CLOSE TO THE SEA.
The place was wonderful, quiet, quaint, clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately there was a power outage (no fault of their own) and that limited our activities and length of stay in the area.
We arrived during a storm. The power was out to most of the community. The host was super friendly upon check-in. They gave us a battery-operated lantern and helped us get set in the room. It turned out to be a super cozy and fun stay, then the power kicked on late in the evening, yet the vibe was still cozy and chill. We enjoyed coffee on the deck, and the jacuzzi tub worked really well. The kitchen has all the basics; you'll need to bring some essentials like oil and seasonings. They had plenty of teas and K-cup coffees. I know they offer coffee and some breakfast, but we didn't check that out because we enjoyed using our kitchen and having breakfast on our deck.
It's a cute, comfortable, clean room and grounds in a nice neighborhood. We liked the electric fireplace and the very nice bathroom and shower and comfortable bed. Obviously recently refurbished. A two block walk from a couple of nice coastal lookouts. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Not one negative thing to say
First time in the area, we stayed for 3 nights and the rooms were very clean. Owners are nice and friendly. Lots of condiments, but breakfast might be lacking but not an issue, there are plenty of good places to eat nearby
The Sunset Inn was an amazing stay. Booked for my parents who were traveling to PG and they loved their time here. Five minute walk to the scenic Pacific Grove lighthouse, and ten minute walk to the Asilomar beach and tide pools. This Inn is a hidden gem. The rooms are immaculate, and the staff are tremendous.
This is our second visit & we still love it. We stayed in a King Jacuzzi room.Rooms are large & quiet. Great location. Helpful staff. Great price. Free appetizer at the Beach House. Try it you won't be disappointed.
We had a wonderful two night stay at Sunset Inn. It was very convenient to the Monterey Bay Aquarium in addition to being very close to the beach, lighthouse, 17 Mile Drive and all that Pacific Grove has to offer. Our room was cozy, great updated bathroom, all the amenities we needed with a mini-fridge, microwave and in room coffee maker. I particularly loved the coffee machine in the lobby that is available all day, yummy lattes on demand! The Inn-Keepers were very accomodating and friendly and keep a very clean and beautiful property. I hope my travels bring me back sometime.
First and most importantly, the property is very clean and very well maintained. The rooms are freshly updated with comfortable beds and nice linens. They provide room cleaning daily. Rooms have fireplaces. Secondly, the owner is super friendly and makes you feel like family. We have visited this property twice and both times he gave us options in rooms. The first time he gave me the keys for two rooms so I could go check them out before I decided. This last visit he offered several room choices again and provided each couple in our party a complimentary bottle of wine. The office has a nice coffee machine and snacks all day. For breakfast it is minimal (instant oatmeal, yogurt, granola bars, bananas, juice, donuts, etc.). They have a nice patio area with outdoor furniture but we have always visited in the winter and have not used those facilities. They have some e-bikes for rent but we haven’t rented. You cannot beat the location. It is just a couple block walk down to the beach. The beach has a wonderful walking trail and boardwalk that goes on for miles in both directions. The bike trail along the coast will take you miles in both directions. The views of the surf and rocks is spectacular. Lots of wildlife from dears on lands to sea otters in the surf. We stayed just after the recent storms and some of the beach trail was washed out. The Inn is also next to the Pacific Grove golf course and just down the road from 17 mile drive and Pebble beach. The butterfly sanctuary is a few blocks away and we saw thousands of butterflies in January. It is a short drive to Cannery Row, the MontereyBay Aquarium and many restaurants. It has definitely become our “go to” place to stay in the Monterey area.…
I was in Monterey to play golf with my grown kids (college age), one of their friends, and my boyfriend. The Sunset Inn was extremely quaint, great location and the service was amazing! The staff / proprietor was incredibly friendly and helpful and made us feel like family :)- Plus loved the fireplace in our room! I'd def recommend.
