This was our second stay at Villa Royale, so obviously we like it. We had a nice cottage with lots of space (118), the breakfasts were good, including excellent tea, which is almost a rarity. And the place has lots of nice touches. My two main cavils were (1) the bed was so high off the floor that I had...

A prior review commented that a little TLS was needed. That is true, but it goes with the magic of a well preserved property from the 1930's and 40'. The total setting is fantastic. The interior decorations are amazing, many of the from movie studio sets since the earlier owners were in the movie business. If you appreciate things that...

As a couple, we spent a quaint weekend at this dated but cozy and serene little spot. Hidden away on a side street, this inn "harkens back to the day" for sure. While it's terribly charming, the property is extremely dated and suffers from much deferred maintenance. Having said as much, we had a fantastic suite in the back of...

The inn's 1940's retro charm evoking the Palm Springs of yesteryear sounded intriguing, and we were looking forward to our stay here. Yes, the setting is lovely with swaying palms and a mountain backdrop. The 30 rooms are nestled along pathways around fountains and courtyards. One could imagine what it must have been like in its heyday, but at present,...

Walking through the charming entrance we felt as though we had uncovered a gem. Location is perfect, a short drive/walk/ride to town and across the street from the Ace. Old Hollywood style magic is enhanced by the super eclectic decor, a beautiful quiet pool (no party people, no kids, which was great!) featured mountain views, and outdoor patio fireplace was...

The inn is conveniently located off Palm Canyon Rd approximately 10 minutes from the airport and 5 minutes from downtown. It is the location of the award winning Europa Restaurant. The rooms surround a heated pool and most have private patios. Take your time exploring all the nooks and crannies of the property from the area around the courtyard fountain...

We have visited this inn several times and love it. Many years ago it was the home of Olympic ice skating champion Sonja Henie (sp?) who then became a movie star. The rooms are of varying sizes. The furnishings are eclectic but each piece and each wall hanging and most knick-knacks. were used in Hollywood movies. The inn has a...

We stayed a couple of nights, just walked in and booked. The price was much better than booking online. The staff were all very friendly, the property is beautiful, and quiet, it has a Tuscan style, the gardens and pools are well maintained and the rooms had a a lot of charm with lovely quirky old furnishings and were clean...
