#24 of 80 hotels in Palm Springs
With iconic, mid-century modern architecture and a rich Hollywood history, L'Horizon offers a perfect boutique-hotel experience just minutes from downtown Palm Springs. Built in 1952 by renowned architect William F. Cody, L'Horizon was a favorite celebrity destination spot in the 50s and 60s, and it attracted guests of Hollywood's golden era including Marilyn Monroe and Betty Grable and several U.S. Presidents. Upon completing a multimillion-dollar re-envisioning by celebrity designer Steve Hermann, it will become Palm Springs only luxury boutique hotel. It's twenty five bungalows with private patios and outdoor showers, spread out over three acres, provide an exclusive and intimate feel to the property. Featuring Frette Linens, Le Labo toiletries, marble baths, and a mix of bespoke and high end vintage furniture, it is once again an iconic property in the making.

As a resident of the Coachella Valley, I wanted to pick an outstanding Palm Springs resort for a one night celebration of my wife's 70th birthday. All the wonderful accolades awarded to L'Horizon Resort & Spa were absolutely accurate. The ambience, quality, professional/attentive service and relaxing atmosphere all contributed to a truly memorable experience. I surprised my wife, and when we drove up to the L'Horizon door, she was delighted and fascinated to see what awaited her. Colin and Ricardo at the front desk were exceptionally welcoming, smart, personally engaging and involved hosts. The bungalow we were assigned was very private and beautifully appointed, in the style of Old Palm Springs, a legendary destination for the movie industry. The beautiful pool/spa area, the outdoor bar and the fire pit with the sun setting behind Mt. San Jacinto were amazing. The physical attributes of the resort were stunning, but the personalized service from the staff made our night one for the books....and the family album. We will be back and won't wait for another milestone birthday. Next time we will savor the pool area, have dinner al fresco and maybe schedule a massage. L'Horizon is truly a destination within a destination (Palm Springs).

Relaxation from the start. Greeted by friendly valet and a glass of champagne as we checked in. The pool and garden is spacious and has a cool, relaxed vibe with chill music add water features. Our bungalow was romantic and I loved the outdoor garden and floor to ceiling windows. The staff genuinely care and pamper, we loved having dinner at the outdoor bar one night and enjoyed Kelly’s delicious cocktails and company. Kim was so helpful with great dining tips and spa bookings and Cassidy was really friendly and attentive! We can’t wait to get back to L Horizon again and 100% recommend.

The hotel stay was a big disappointment. The only redeeming aspect is the pool. It is beautiful and the pool staff are A plus! They are kind and welcoming. The juices are fresh and tasty and the cocktails are fantastic. However, the rooms are way over priced at over $500 for a mid week stay off season. The bathrooms are super tiny and mine in Room 5 did not function. Upon arrival I was taken to my room and next to it a mechanical or some sort of room was open which is super unappealing. Then the towels in the bath room were messy and askew. The toilet needed repeated flushing and did not work. Then after my shower when I got a towel the whole bar crashed on my big toe. I alerted the front desk and the staff member was very caring and kind and offered to move my room. However it was dark, we were grabbing a drink before dinner and had to dash. I had unpacked and given it was 1 night only did not want to deal with the hassle factor. Upon check out I was created the $35 resort fee which is laughable given the room rate and the fact the tiny bathroom was a disaster. Further my frined who booked the rooms had multiple other room charges of our group on her credit card. Several weeks prior to arrival I changed my reservation from 2 nights to 1 night and I was not in the system at all even though my friend booked each room under our own names. There are simply too many choices in the desert to return. The room rate does not justify the experience and all I am left with in memory is a bandage on my toe!

The property is beautiful, spacious, super clean and well maintained. The service is exceptional. My husband and I stayed there for three nights. Arrived on Sunday and left on Wednesday. The staff are exceptionally friendly, kind and helpful. Chris, the hotel manager is incredibly kind, helpful and caring. His attention to details and needs of each guest is excellent. Kelly, the bar manager and all his staff members at the pool area make you feel at home and go above and beyond to get you what you need. Overall the experience is very pleasant. I am going back again this week taking my mother for two nights and looking forward to our stay and seeing everyone again. L'Horizon is truly home away from home.

We spent 2 nights at L'Horizon in April 2021 in Bungalow #1--which was spacious, beautifully appointed, and conveniently located right near the Spa and the pool. The room's amenities are impressive--Le Labo products, incredibly comfortable bed/linens, as well as an unforgettable outdoor shower. We enjoyed delicious breakfasts at our outdoor patio and appreciated our 90 minute massages in their outdoor spa area. The food is high quality and the staff accommodated our special requests at every turn. If you're looking for a luxurious, quiet, upscale getaway, this is your spot. We look forward to returning soon!
