If you are looking for glitz, make another choice. If you are looking for relaxing, and a taste of how Palm Springs was back in the day, this is the place. Everyone is extremely friendly, and it is centrally located to anything you might want to do. Great for families.

This place is a great option for those wanting to stay on budget while visiting expensive Palm Springs. They have a great outdoor pool and jacuzzi. The staff provided great service as well. We will visit again when we go to Coachella in a couple of years.

A motel with a story--built to house the crew on the move "A Place in the Sun" it retains it mid-century charm. The grounds are inviting--a pool and spa surrounded by palm trees, flowers and shrubs surrounded by the bungalow rooms. We stayed in a studio--the room was rough around the edges, the bathroom is straight out of the 1940's,...

I booked a visit here to celebrate my father's 80th birthday and escape some intense Canadian winter weather. APITS was perfect. The personal touches throughout, the conscientious and well informed staff, the kind owners and the very dedicated and attentive house keeping staff made our visit an absolute pleasure. The gardens and pool / hot tub area are a wonderful...

This is a comfortable, old style hotel. My room (#14) was small (as I expected) but got plenty of light. The kitchen area was small (tucked into a closet, I think) but was fine for what we needed...making light lunches/snacks/etc. It was fully stocked with plenty of utensils. The beds were comfortable and the wifi strong. The pool and gardens...

Well, my last review in May, 2014 was headed "Can't wait until the next visit". Unfortunately, due to the Canadian $ vs US $ it took until Christmas 2016 fulfill the dream. Norm has gone on to new endeavours but Joe is still there after 10 years and now we have Michael. Both are just great at customer service, friendly,...

A place in the sun is one of those special places that people go back to because they feel at home away from home. I had a place like that as a young adult into my 50's. Thinking back it was a great place to go to get complete relaxation. It was friendly, adequate, well kept and outdated. This is...

Retro gem....quiet, clean, pet friendly. Biggest stars are the two gentlemen Michael & Joe, running the day to day operations. I hope the owners are paying them well....they are superstars!!! First, interaction was the reservation call. Conversation was warm, inviting, gave suggestions & very helpful. Thus reservation made..that worked for my party & for my dog...and plans made for salt...

A place in the sun is just plain delightful. Michael at the front desk is the most gracious man you will ever meet and the owners are so lucky to have him represent them. The rooms are clearly old school but beautifully maintained. Even the studios are spacious and have a little kitchenette. Our bungalow was spotless, spacious, tastefully furnished...
