Pros: staff, shower water pressure, bar and pool. Cons: This place needs an overhaul. The general theme is fine but the rooms are out of date and not super clean. The rooms have carpet (ew) and a sink over the carpet. First room they gave me had black, wet carpet under the sink. Next room was better but still needed a wipe down (which I did with Clorox wipes). Sticky stuff on countertop came off with wipes. Drawers were dirty. Furniture is falling apart, shower handle spins, unable to get a good temp. Fridge in room froze my water. Looks like they are doing renovations on some rooms. The fitness center was locked because the equipment “needed to be fixed”. Didnt want to sit on the chair in the room because it looked old and, frankly, nasty.
Laura at the front desk was super helpful with a problem my head with a double booking on a third-party website. She also let me know that they will match any price you find on another website, so next time I will just book directly through the hotel. The tiki touches everywhere were super adorable and I loved the Christmas and Hawaiian music that was piped in to the pool area. Also super loved the very hot Jacuzzi. Nothing was ever crowded and everything was super well-kept and clean. The room is super Duper clean and also had little tiki touches that made it extra special. The only tiny tiny complaint I have is that the stairwells were extremely dark at night, but that being my only complaint means the place was great. Sadly because of Covid the tiki bar was closed during our stay, but it looks great.…
We stayed at this hotel because ours friends love the tiki atmosphere. There was a big group of us celebrating a friends 50th birthday. We went to our room and started to get settled. I went to the bathroom and found fake eyelashes stuck to floor. I decided to let that go and not care about it. A friends family had to witch rooms because they found bed bugs on Friday. Friday night I noticed the room next to our was closed with a yellow sign on it. You could see in the room that all the furniture has been pushed to the walls. I the figured out that room is being treated for bed bugs. Gross! Saturday we went to move the nightstand forward to plug in the iPad. Behind the nightstand was a dildo in a ziplock bag. My son shouted, “Mom what’s that?” Obviously some sort of medical device son. I didn’t say anything because we were there to celebrate a friend and checking out the next day. In the morning when getting out of bed, I noticed a bug at the foot of the bed. Ok, by now I’m done. I’ve never lived with or stayed somewhere with bugs. It appeared dead so I guess that was a positive. At check out I tried to explain my disgust kindly to the manager. The manager did not care one bit. He had me email him my photos only to have me wait and then tell me he did an internet search and found my photos all over the internet. I then told him I’m not poor and trying to get a free room but this is gross. He said he would have his maintenance guys check the room and get back to me. Guess what? The manager never got back to me. I called American Express to try and get the charge refunded. The hotel talked them out of it apparently. Please don’t stay here unless your into dildos and bugs. I will never ever stay here or recommend it to anyone.…
Basic motel dressed up with Tiki fun decor and good front desk service. Great pool and quite busy on the weekends. Messy and inattentive service in the restaurant/bar (The Reef) that takes away from the fun atmosphere and good food and drink. Good happy hour place if you can handle the hot mess service.
Room was OK for the price. Furniture damage, cement floors, but A/C located away from bed which made it easier to sleep. The front office tried to charge me for two rooms, I had only one booked through Hotels.com. The morning of the checkout they tried to charge me $29.l4 for a pet charge, saying I signed for having a pet. I told them I didn't sign anything and don't own a pet. Two hours later my credit card company contacted me saying there we suspicious charges on my card. I contacted hotel, they said they could only see last four digits on my card. Card cancelled. The pool looked very dirty from too much product/suntan lotion.
