This really pains me to write this review. We booked our trip a year ago because we loved this hotel so much. Last year- great service and a great stay. But this year, totally different experience. It all comes down to service and we received the worst customer service. I can go on and on about the girl Nikky at the front desk. Her kindness was super fake! But, the straw that broke the camels back was a situation at the pool. They arranged gardeners to work in the pool area on the Saturday of Mothers Day at Noon. There was a workers butt right near my face!!! (See picture) Are you kidding me?!? And when we asked her to have them come back so we can enjoy ourselves, she said, “If you don’t like it, you can check out”!!!! Are you serious? You just lost 7 people’s business for that comment. She could have easily apologized and offer us something in return (maybe a glass of champagne ?) of the workers there!!! Nope! She tried to apologize the next day. But, sorry, too late. So sad, because I loved this hotel. 🙁

We booked the Andreas to fill a couple of days before attending a conference in Palm Desert. We arrived late at night, but the welcome was warm and friendly. Be aware that if you have heavy suitcases, as we did, you have to drag them up the stairs if you are in an upper room. We booked a deluxe room and it was spacious and had everything we needed. Our only real complaint was that the bed creaked literally every time either of us moved, so it was a case of lying absolutely still in order not to disturb the other, and with serious jet lag that was difficult! The shower was good but the basin area was very small for such a huge bathroom. We had coffee and biscuits in the lobby area, but that was the only other area of the hotel we used. The hotel is in a perfect location and we didn't take the breakfast bags, but ate at an amazing little cafe nearby called L'atelier, who do the best french toast. There was a huge choice of restaurants within walking distance for dinner too. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a short stay in a vibrant town.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. We booked a room with balconies which was quite lovely. No WiFi as promised and nothing was done about it. They moved us to a suite when the shower leaked into the room below (maintenance said it needed caulking). We were informed the next morning that we had to move because the suite was booked. We were moved to a basement room between the laundry and the washrooms with no view. We were also told that the air-conditioning was locked so we couldn’t adjust it. We bought a fan at Home Depot. Three moves in three days and ended up in a much inferior room. The staff, while pleasant enough, did nothing to rectify our situation. Politeness is not a replacement for good service. Again. We would never return. As I told the person who was there for our third move I was just waiting for the week to be over

We booked Andreas Hotel and Spa because of the location. While it's a small hotel, its customer service is huge! Nikki and Stephanie at the front desk were always very helpful with any questions we had. The both went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable in our room. Our room was clean and very nicely appointed. The location of the Andreas Hotel is excellent, as it's within steps of numerous restaurants and shops. Originally, we were only going to stay 1 night, but loved it so much that we stayed an additional 2 nights. Can't wait to go back!

Each room is different and nicely decorated. The staff goes out if their way to insure an enjoyable stay. They could not have been nicer. The pool is beautiful and surrounded by the rooms. There is a patio on the second floor with a two-sided fireplace and comfy chairs. Would definitely recommend.

Horrible hotel. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! Super rude and unhelpful staff.yom went into the hospital 1 day after the cancellation policy (Wich is 14 days out). So she went in 13 days before our stay. We had a reservation for a week. They refused to cancel it without the penalty...WHICH IS HALF OF THE STAY. They charged us $1200 . No exceptions! The 2 people I talked to were rude. I asked for a manager. I was told there were none, that I had to deal with the guy 9n the phone. He could have cared less.

I had high expectations from this hotel. Not just because of the price, but because of the descriptions, reviews and pictures. The good: staff was pleasant, hotel was clean and quiet. The bad: while we were lucky to get the king size bed, the mattress was super lumpy and it was impossible to sleep on it. You couldn't move without waking up the other person. We both ended up with backache and while we planned on sleeping in on our last morning, we were up at 5.30am and left as soon as the first breakfast place opened. I was not impressed when we were handed a "breakfast bag" on the first morning. At first I thought that we missed the breakfast, but then I realized that's just the way they are. That might work in a Motel 6, but at almost $400 a night it's embarrassing to say the least. If you are not able to provide at least fresh pastry and fruit, then don't advertise the free breakfast. Neither of us is a picky eater, but the stale bagel, sugary cheap pastry and soft tangerines are not our thing. To charge the resort fee you have to offer resort quality, but this was not the case. Overall, overpriced hotel that has a potential to offer a lot but needs to keep up or lower the prices. We won't be back.

Response from Gina Campbell, General Manager at Andreas Hotel & Spa

Thank you for taking the time to write us a review. Most of the time our guests love our Gel Top mattresses, but, if you've never slept on one you might not. As I'm sure you are aware it is a weekly basis to see what we can get from our distributor for breakfast at this time, we are hoping to go back to our continental breakfast as soon as supplies get better. Our breakfast bag contains many items, bagels, yogurt, fruit granola bars, pastry, cheese, orange juice or apple juice and all the condiments

Getting to to the hotel and first appearance - wonderful. The piped in Rat Pack music - wonderful. The layout of the hotel beautiful. Being greeted by a warm lobby and fireplace - also beautiful. After that - everything was anything but. Many steps carrying luggage up to the 2nd floor. Outside. Wet. Constantly being told not to slip/fall. The room was large - fireplace going also. However to heat the space and with the marble floors - it was constantly cold and took forever to heat. I am sure the marble is great in the summer - definitely not in the winter. There was a sewing needle stuck in the carpet in front of the bathroom.Took it to the lobby when picking up food that was delivered. Then housekeeping forgot to turn the alarm clock off. Instead of bathrobes they should have provided earplugs - the main street is a drag racing strip at night, the noise outside, the street sweeper or trash pickup around 5 a.m, the thin walls and listening to the neighbors tv until 1:16 a.m. - all of this did not make for a wonderful or even nice stay. The spa reservation was equally 'off'. The woman I spoke with couldn't seem to understand that my arrival wasn't until after 4 p.m. and kept offering me openings at 3 or noon. After finally working out the logistics - the spa is old, the sheets thin, the rooms poorly heated (seems to be a theme)... It was a very unfortunate experience and not what I hoped for the rating or price.

We visit this wonderful resort about 3 times each year-this is truly a boutique hotel with many unique features. Nikki & Krystal are always there to assist us (I’m on crutches due to an accident). Bryan makes the best tableside guacamole/salsa/chips anywhere. Great pool area, free parking. We will be back in February Cheers, Walt PS. Absolutely fabulous Christmas decorations too.

This property was built in the 1930s and has had a number of celebrity guests. It really is a place for couples and most definitely a place for adults who want the resort experience, not "just a room." The pool area is spacious. The public areas are kept immaculately clean. The staff is very helpful. This property is smaller than similar resort properties I've known, but the commercial strips of Palm Springs have grown up around it and it's hemmed in. The location is ideal-steps away from the Palm Canyon strip and many restaurants, from budget to expensive. Other attractions, like the Art, Architecture and Design, and Modernism museums, are quite walkable. A few minor caveats: The parking lot is easy to miss; look for the fountain out front. There is no elevator. The hotel is downtown, so you will hear noise, especially when the fire trucks respond to a call from the station next door, or when bikers charge up and down Indian Canyon or Palm Canyon drives. The noise isolation between rooms is very good. All in all, a great place for romantic get-a-way.
