Really disappointed with this hotel. Staff are great, but the property itself is in dire need of a makeover. The rooms are dark and depressing and the bathrooms are motel quality at best. Aesop bath products don't make up for a dirty plastic shower curtain, horrible lighting and Home Depot fixtures. The outside areas are sad and dirty, as are the pools themselves. The whole place needs a fresh coat of paint and a remodel.

After 4 days in Vegas this was such an oasis to relax and chill-out .The rooms were wonderful, service great and it was so easy to just relax by the pool and do nothing .I loved the free iced water available all day - free tea in the morning and free valet .Didnt check out the next door pools but the large pool was wonderful to do some real swimming and the smaller pool perfect for hopping in to cool down as the temp got to 107 .Rooms simple but having 2 bathrooms was really nice Would love to come back

One review is not sufficient to capture the guest experience at this amazing property. Beyond the hip and chic vibe, historic architecture and ties to hosting Hollywood legends of decades past, the Avalon has a formula that works. Our guest experience was personalised and tailored to exactly what we were looking for- a place to unplug from the grid, spoil ourselves with solitude, amazing food, gracious and genuine staff (General Manager, F&B Director, Rooms Division Manager, Spa Director along with every server/attendant) made us feel like family from the moment we arrived.. And as a culinary footnote: don't miss indulging in chef's Oscar worthy Chi Chi breakfast sandwich and colossal club sandwich with truffle fires.😋 We will be back for a sequel! We were 2 adults and stayed in the adults only area of the hotel near the adult pool. It was a very nice stay. The rooms were really nice, the pool was perfect and the staff was very welcoming and friendly. I also loved the products in the shower. We did book on a holiday weekend which was a very high price for one night but other than that it was great.

The property is great, good location, pools are great. But if you're getting of the standard hotel rooms make sure its not facing the street, these rooms are loud and have a lack of furniture. I know this started as a motel in the 50s but it shouldn't still feel like one. And a note to guests, if you traveling with kids, there is a pool dedicated to you, don't come to the adult pools.

Celebrating both of our birthdays, we spent an amazing week at the Avalon hotel. The location is perfect, walkable to shopping, incredible food and spa treatments. We would highly recommend staying at the Avalon hotel. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful and the amenities were top notch.

My husband and I spent four nights at the property in May 2023. Overall the stay was great. Our initial room, 517, was to small for two people. When we changed to a bungalow, 510, everything was great. When we had to change rooms, the front desk staff were immediately helpful and understanding and offered a discounted up-charge. We used the Presidio pool and the pool at the sister property, the Ingelside Inn. The pools, the pool areas, the chairs, the towels, the pool staff, the food and beverage service were all excellent - high marks. Also, Chi Chi was a great place for breakfast - very tasty options, high food quality, and attentive service. They had Apple TVs in the rooms, which was helpful, because we stream a lot of music and also shows and movies on different streaming services. The property is smallish. So, when there are many guests, the fit is a little tight, but we did not find this to be a problem. We bought sunscreen at the spa, and it was excellent. Think carefully about how much room you need to be happy, and if you get into a properly sized room, you will have a very enjoyable stay. We plan to return and stay again in a bungalow. Oh, and the beds in both of our rooms, even the too small room, were great, and my husband is a light sleeper who is fussy about too soft or squishy mattresses.…

Room was ridiculously small, not what I rented but the front desk told us it’s because we booked through hotels.com. Wedding that weekend so pools were closed as of 4pm, not too pleasant at 98 degrees.

Loved this hidden gem of a hotel tucked up against the mountain range. 3 pools, private, pet friendly, classy with a great vibe. Customer service was top notch. Spa, restaurant, bar, pool-side service...what more could you ask for? Highly recommend. Will def be back.
