The Inn is in fact a Motel not an Inn. All rooms open to the outside, no indoor corridors. The restaurants are operated not by the Inn but by third a party operator. The Inn has no control over the restaurant reservations, they are direct with the third party, do not rely upon the Inn to make or confirm table reservations. The Inn has no indoor communal areas where one could read a book or relax. It is in fact a very over priced Motel with very expensive restaurants, think $200+.00 for dinner for two, with mediocre food. I can provide receipts to support. Two very disappointed guests All our booking requests were ignored, room type , dinner preferences etc.resulting in "strong" arrival discussion to resolve, but only partially Highly not recommended. above $50..00 PN

I had read some reviews and decided to book for two nights. It was over a Sat and Sun night, so prices were high. This place cost me $440 for two nights. But I was tired after a long drive and this was the best I could find. When I checked in I was given a room at the far other side of the property, which seemed strange because the parking lot was less than 1/2 full all night. I tried to log into the wifi (believe me, I know how to use wifi). I had an incredibly weak signal which kept dropping out, on 2 phones and a laptop. I couldn’t use FaceTime. Email kept dropping. Transactions failed. I was trying to research and book wineries, but couldn’t. It was really frustrating. I called the front desk for help. I was told, “the wifi works fine for me, are you using it right?”. I asked if the signal was weak this far away. She said no. I basically got the equivalent of a shrug over the phone, with the implication I don’t know how to log into wifi. I took a walk and saw the wifi signal varied greatly based on location. I was tired, so gave up. The next morning I asked about changing rooms. It was also suggested I might just check out. I thought about it. The hassle of checking the signal in different rooms, packing and moving seemed a pain. When I looked around at the thin towels, the shampoo and soap slivers in tiny ketchup-style packs, the dated bathroom and the hard bed, I decided to check out, as I had been offered. When I checked out I was offered a $125 refund. Yes, I paid over $300 for a room slightly better than a Motel 6. The woman said she didn’t know how to process a credit on their system and could I wait for a day or two for someone else to do it. Yeah, I’d be hundreds of miles away, begging for a credit over the phone. Seemed like a bad idea to me. So I took cash, which was counted out like I was torturing them with every bill. Bottom line. No usable wifi. Hard, lumpy bed. Soap and shampoo that must cost pennies a packet. Rip-off weekend pricing. Oh yes, a maid that ignored the “Do not Disturb” sign and tried to open my door at 9am Sunday morning. This is a hidden gem? Really? I made a mistake. I confused this motel with one I had stayed at happily several years ago (which sadly is now closed). Lesson learned. If nothing decent is available at a sane price, change your plans. I wish I had.

I am always a bit nervous about staying at "budget friendly" motels, as it can mean many things. Budget Inn Paso Robles was a GREAT experience. The owners, Peter and Kathy were delightful. Our extremely large room had two queen beds, three night stands, desk, dresser, sitting chair, eating table with 2 chairs, small refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and there was room to spare! The room and bathroom were VERY clean and up to date. The carpets looked new. The air conditioner was quiet and there was no noise from the outside. Bed and pillows were comfortable. All room are non-smoking. Breakfast was not included, however there are restaurants within walking distance. If you're looking for a luxury hotel with bath robes, room service and swanky lobbies, you'll want to stay somewhere else (and pay a few hundred dollars more per night). This is now our go-to motel in Paso Robles. Thank you, Peter and Kathy for a great stay!

Basic, clean lodging--do not expect fine toiletry, with a fridge and microwave. My dh slept well on the bed--I did not: the hard bed did not support either my back or shoulder so woke up several times in the middle of the night. The outdoor pool was clean but unheated so was too cold to do more than soak our feet. Location is good for downtown Paso Robles but not for Hearst Castle, which is r5 -60 min. away.

Very friendly staff very very clean rooms comfortable bed and very large king-size rooms. It’s a husband and wife team that live on site. We’ve stayed there multiple times and now they know me by my first name. No pets allowed and no smoking which is our preference

I was only passing through and needed a 1 nite stopover. Found this gem OFF the highway (.75 mi), so no highway noise, and close to main street. I found a well maintained property inside and out (even the grounds were clean and well kept). the rooms were standard CLEAN motel like, but missing any mars and scars of past guests. The furniture was free of nicks and dents from past guests (a nice feel). And the bathroom was clean and problem free, even the hot water was quick on demand even in the morning high demand period. The TV appeared to have premium channel selections though I mostly just keep prime time news on the screen. Overall, a great place when passing through, at a good rate and close to a couple of walkable dining options (though I recommend "Su Casa" just down the block). And there is a convenience store across the street.

Rooms were clean and comfortable. We were originally coming on a weekend when prices were higher but our flights were cancelled for two days so came in on a week night so got a cheaper rate. Close to restaurants, parks and entertainment. Quiet.

Hotels fill up on Friday nights, but this downtown hotel had a room available. The staff at the desk was very friendly, the room was clean, the area was quiet, plenty of parking, nice pool that was fenced and monitored. There was a lot to like here, even at the high price.

Stayed here during the Labor Day weekend, hard to find a room at the last minute but this place was available on hotels.com and seems to have good reviews. Room 118 was very clean, carpet looked new bed was nice and firm and I slept well. Everybody that stayed here was quite pleasant and friendly. The staff seemed very nice and personable, all in all a lovely stay.

We stayed for one night. We were so glad the room was overall clean. Carpets were stained by the door. Our room 120, King bed, was large. Our neighbors were very rude honking horns, yelling, and loud off and on till 3:00a.m..The woman at the front desk was pleasant and helpful. Our primary unfortunate was the beds were very hard.
