When I booked the room I had no idea they were under construction. I did get an email from the hotel to inform us but figured it was a courtesy notice. Little did we know that the construction would be right outside our door. Hotels remodel all the time, and most are able to negotiate the construction without impacting the...

Hotel is under construction/remodel. Lobby is done, but the rest of the place is not. We spent four nights. First room we had (three nights) was not completed and was sketchy, but it overlooked the courtyard which meant it was not as noisy as our second room (last night) which overlooked Washington Street. It was horribly noisy. You will need...

If you want to be in Petaluma, the location of this property really can't be beat. And the fact that they currently don't require a two-night minimum on weekends is an added plus. This is definitely a place to stay for it's convenience to other places. My husband and I were able to stay in one of the renovated rooms,...

I had high hopes. I travel to Sonoma County frequently, and usually stay at the Metro in Petaluma. Thought I would give Hotel Petaluma a try. I booked my room online and made a special request for a quiet room. I called on the way to the hotel to inquire about parking. The front desk person wasn't really sure where...

Dear Hendrickshine, Thank you for reviewing Hotel Petaluma. We thank you for giving us a try knowing you typically stay elsewhere. We apologize for the confusion regarding parking. We do not have our own parking lot but are able to use the parking lot at the Bank of America building. Due to our location downtown Petaluma and on Washington Street,...

I think this place will have great potential once it's completed. Its a cool old hotel in the heart of Petaluma. The room I had was comfortable, but no closet or place to hang your clothes. No chair for the desk...only place to sit was the on the bed. It can be noisy, but remember you are in downtown Petaluma...

We (four women friends) stayed one night in adjacent rooms. The positive attributes about this hotel include the very friendly and helpful front desk staff; the historic charm; the pretty lobby with a wonderful fireplace (it was raining each day and the fire was very cheerful); and the proximity to the shops. But as noted in other reviews it was...

Yes it is rough around the edges due to ongoing construction, but if you like old and creaky with a touch of history, you'll appreciate this hotel. Perfectly located in charming downtown Petaluma, our room was comfortable with a large bathroom and shower. The AC and heating was non functioning but it did not matter during our one night stay....

No air conditioning and room was very hot. Loved the old stuff but still under construction. Great location in the downtown historic Petaluma. Would definitely stay again after renovations and hopefully have air conditioning.

Hotel has good beds, but staying here is like camping next to a construction site. With no AC, your choices are suffocation or road noise. Awakened by trucks passing at 2 am, I decided the room was cool enough to close the windows, but that couldn't dampen the morning commute beginning at 5 am. I LOVE quirky, historic hotels, and...

I found out weeks after booking this boutique hotel, in the heart of Petaluma, that the place was undergoing major renovations.
