We had a great getaway to this Motel - located right in Pioneertown the location is wonderful, the hotel is western rustic with some modern touches. We enjoyed our stay here, comfortable bed, pet friendly (our dog loved it!), they have hammocks as well as an outdoor fire pit and the night sky is beautiful up there too. We must say thanks to the super friendly and helpful staff, they made our stay enjoyable. Had a great dinner at the legendary Pappy and Harriet's just steps from your room. We look forward to a return visit!
Wow. We loved this place. Pioneertown is a step back in time and the motel is just famous. The rooms are thoughtfully decorated and appointed with comfortable beds and bedding. There are hammocks to relax on and an outdoor fireplace that the incredibly friendly and helpful staff will light at night. Close to Joshua Tree Park and several small towns. Special special special.
We wanted to a weekend hiking Joshua Tree NP and found the Pioneertown Motel. I believe its the best lodging within 30 miles of the park. And its close proximity to Pappy & Harriet's is a great bonus, providing suds, music and surprisingly good dining after a long day exploring the park.
I stayed here for a couple of nights in mid-March. The front desk person was very warm and friendly. Located away from the main part of Pioneertown, the motel feels secluded at night, with great star gazing at the outdoor fire pit area. There aren't many rooms so the stay felt like a getaway. The room is decorated in an Ace-hotel style modern style. My room had a fridge, which was helpful. I also appreciated no microwave and no TV as it made it feel more cabin-like. Overall I enjoyed the stay. My only complaint is that the rustic door doesn't have good insulation and lets the cold night air into the room. The in-room heater was one of the older window-type, and it was fighting all night to keep the room warm, making the room very dry and loud. The door was charming, but not the best in cold seasons.…
Pioneertown Motel is in a great location for being surrounded by desert, yet close enough to town. And Pappy & Harriet's is right next door. Excellent, friendly, and accommodating staff. The vibe of the motel fits its location perfectly.
