The beach is literally within steps from the Inn. And having an ocean view was beautiful. But I was very disappointed that the air conditioning in the room was restricted, which made it difficult to be comfortable. Customers should not have to bring their own fans.
Like many travellers passing through San Luis Obispo County, we were making our way between San Francisco and LA along the Pacific Coast Highway (as we have on previous visits to the West Coast). On this occasion, we chose to stay at Pismo Beach and selected the Inn at the Pier for an overnight stay. What a great choice we made ! We reserved a room with balcony and full ocean view on the first floor. We were warmly greeted by the valet park attendant and walked a few short steps into the large and gracious foyer. Check in was swift and efficient and we took the elevator to the first floor. Our room was both huge and immaculately presented. On entering there was a large counter to the left, with coffee machine, ice bucket, microwave and refrigerator. To the right a sliding 'barn' door led to the well appointed bathroom with huge walk-in shower, wash basin, and separate WC in an adjoining room. There were ample fluffy white towels and bathrobes. The Bedroom had a King size bed, dressing table, wardrobe space, several lamps, a sofa and swivel chair, with cushions. Decor was both bright, airy and contemporary. Sliding patio doors (and a sliding insect screen) led to a good size balcony, with two chairs and a drinks table. The view was directly to the famous "PISMO BEACH" sign and pier below, and beyond that to the beautiful Pacific Ocean. The hotel is in the heart of town, with several restaurants, bars, shops and stores nearby. That evening we enjoyed cocktails at the hotel's rooftop bar while watching a spectacular sunset over the Ocean. Staff were friendly, engaging and helpful throughout our faultless stay at this top-notch seafront property. The only regret about staying one night at the Inn - was that we should have booked for longer.... A real gem !…
Hotel location is perfect, but hotel needs more attention to details. looks remodeled but still missing many things. room phone not working and tv remote as well. staff in front need better training. Roof top food was good and the service there was excellent. The shower head in the room was weak and needs to be stronger.
Location is awesome. Hotel is clean and updated. Best of all…every staff member went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. The staff was happy, kind, and professional. Will stay here again. We have also stayed at a sister property at Pismo and it was not a great experience. Inn At the Pier is top notch.
The location is awesome. Being able to park close to the beach was very nice. I do not write many reviews but I want to share an excellent experince I had at The Pier. I will make this place my home away from home.
We thought we were in for a great time at a very nice hotel, boy were we wrong! The hotel is completely overpriced, at least the room we selected was, room 357 King Room with a Balcony, and with our experience of the place it should have been free. The exhaust fan in the restroom did not work at all, the entire room was muggy and stuffy and had a bad moldy odor as soon as we walked in. The bathroom mirror had a break where if not careful could have resulted in one of us getting lacerations to our hands. The pool was nonoperational and there was no communication of it at all. The hotel is fairly new but looks like it needs an overhaul as there is rust and piled on dust everywhere, caulking everywhere needs to be replaced. Let me be clear that price is not the issue here, value is. We just don't expect rust and dirt everywhere in a place that charges as much as this place. The big hotel sign out front is rusting out. A little daily maintenance goes along way guys. The rooftop area is a joke! Dirty tables everywhere and did not look inviting at all, nothing like the pictures online. I can go on and on about how bad our whole experience was, but I'm exhausted just thinking about it. We talked about our experience to locals, and nobody was surprised, as if they all knew this hotel is a big joke. The valet guys were awesome, they had our car ready to go the times we needed it. The check in experience was also great. I cannot say anything bad about the staff in general, but it would've been nice to at least get a rate reduction or more like a full refund as there was no attempt to fix our room or an apology for the pool being out of service during our stay. Our whole trip was so that we could hang in the pool and get away from the heat. A big fail. This is obviously our experience and do not wish this on anyone but note that you've been warned. Also, this is not a place to take kids, drunk people everywhere and a huge fight broke out that started in the street and ended up on the third floor with somebody getting stabbed. Take your family and your hard earned money somewhere else.…
the room was clean and comfortable except for the fact that it is on a busy corner across for a dirt parking lot. At night, the street noise from all the people, trucks, cars, motorcycles, etc, exiting the busy streets, FORGET SLEEPING
Room and staff were great. Excellent location. Nice, clean rooms with modern amenities. Large TV though the TV software is absolutely terrible. Avoid the rooftop bar though. It tool a full hour to get drinks.
We are local and love staying local. This is our 3rd time at Inn at the Pier and our overall experience has always been the same…excellent. As soon as we arrived we were taken care of by valet. We arrived around noon but the front desk was able to check us in. We also were given an opportunity to upgrade to a 1 bedroom at an extremely low price. The rooftop bar is a bonus and the view is wonderful.
Total cost for one night was $320.00,! A(Rip-Off! I had booked two mights at $139.00 per nite, to find out I was only booked one night at the rate above. I also booked a king deluxe room overlooking.the ocean and received a room overlooking a parking lot. With cooking good smells from below on the two seat balcony. There front desk people were not at all helpful, and during our conversation about the stay showed no interest in trying to correct the problem, except for saying “ I just work here”)7
