The house was lovely and very clean. The service was stellar and breakfast superb. The only quibble was the road traffic, which settled down later in the evening, but began around 5:30am. All-in-all a lovely place with fabulous hosts and food.

We always appreciate hearing from our guests. Thanks for taking the time to write a review. Living in a neighborhood with traffic, and on the "gold vein" Hwy 49 does present noise. We have ear plugs in each room to help muffle the sounds but sometimes it's just not enough. Again we thank you for staying with us and hope... More

This was a great place to stay. The attic was large with plenty of room. Close to downtown and the major roads. If you are a light sleeper, there is traffic noise from the street. I am a heavy sleeper, so no problems.

We love to hear from our guests. Thanks for your words of advise as to being on a busy street. We do have ear plugs on the tables next to the bed just for that reason. Hwy 49 is a much traveled road by not only the locals but those traveling the historical road meandering through the gold country of... More

What can I say - I love this place! It makes business travel to the Bay Area HUMANE! I spend the night before my meeting there, go in the next day for the meeting, and stay a second night after the meeting. The restaurants in Placerville are delightful (especially The Independent), and everything in downtown Placerville is within walking distance... More

We stopped for a night on our way to Tahoe. Convenient, great proprietors, and such hospitality! Close to wineries; don't have to drive too far. The full breakfast was delicious. We walked into town for dinner..very easy walk. We will be back.

Thanks for your kind words about your stay with us. It's great when you can leave the car behind and walk to town for dinner. Having the wineries near by allows our guests to enjoy the fruits of the vines! Hope to see you again. More

What a wonderful way to spend our 10 yr anniversary. Everything was comfy... bed, robes, ambiance. Loved the short walk downtown for an amazing dinner at Farm Table and breakfast was divine made personally by Chef Rita. Steph and Rita really put their heart & soul into the house and we felt the love from beginning to end.

The Shafsky house is located close to most of the attractions and shops in Placerville. It was just a short walk to the restaurants and shops. The innkeeper Rita greeted us upon arrival and provided us with all the info to make our stay comfortable. The room was clean and roomy and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and gluten free... We were in Sacramento for business, and decided to extend our stay for some R&R. Unfamiliar with Northern CA, we serendipitously decided to stay in Placerville (it was also conveniently located for the whitewater rafting trip we planned). I found the Albert Shafsky House B&B on BedandBreakfast.com website, confirmed with the reviews on TripAdvisor. What a delight. We stayed in... More

We had a nice three night stay and met interesting and friendly people. Would recommend it to anyone who likes a bed and breakfast. A easy walk to town. Rita's breakfast was a cut above. Good every morning.

We had a wonderful stay at this attractive well kept B&B. Rita made us feel right at home and over a glass of wine in the living room gave us impartial assessment about the local.restaurants. The town was a wonderful surprise and the stay at Albert's made great by Rita and her fine cooking and hospitality. Thanks for letting others know about your stay at the B&B. Yes, being on the corner of Hwy 49, the Gold Vein & traveled by many, lends itself to traffic and sometimes intreresting wild life.
