We have stayed here several times over the past 30 years. It has an older Spanish style building, and a more contemporary building. The owners are very nice, and knowledgeable about the area. The older rooms can be a bit run down, but overall are clean and comfortable. I gave it 4 stars more for the overall experience than the...

We could have practically moved in - had a hard time leaving. That's how good it was. We found that the motel echoed the atmosphere of Quincy perfectly: Laid-back, eccentric, comfortable, quiet and without an ounce of pretension. Not for those of you looking for an atmosphere of excitement, sophistication, or modern fancy-schamnciness. I came to relax because I had...

We almost felt like we needed to tiptoe around as it was so quiet at this motel. The room was clean and comfortable. You could tell from the surrounding grounds that the place used to look great. Some major hand labor needed to bring the plantings up to date but it still was a very nice experience.

My wife and I spent a week there in October 2014. Our Room was exactly what we expected to find in Quincy. It was clean comfortable and provided all we needed for our stay. The owners and staff couldn't have been any nicer. Would recommend this place to anyone. It's not the Marriot, but it's what you would expect in...

This property was a surprisingly nice find. It was clean and comfortable and seemed to be well run. It's in East Quincy so it's a couple of miles to the main part of town. That's where the majority of eating establishments are.

We spent two nights here this month and really enjoyed it. The place brings back the feeling of the 50s and 60s but has more modern amenities inside the rooms. Even though the hotel is off the main road that runs into Quincy, it is quiet and peaceful; just taking a stroll around the grounds and listening to the brook...

No, it's not brand new, but it is quaint and clean and it totally met our family's needs with 2 bedrooms, 4 beds and a kitchen (room 13). I am usually pretty picky with hotel rooms and although it is an older hotel, when we walked in I had a good feel and could tell it was clean. It had...

Great potential; just needs a grounds cleanup and raking. Room was totally redone. Kind of like the old motor court feel. A lot of TLC needed but we'll definetly will be back. Maybe on a few acres of land.

This is our idea of a wonderful, non corporate, family run motel. We stayed here years ago and see that the new owners have worked hard to revitalize this classic, unique motel. We stayed in #8 which is the older section, no air conditioning but with a front door and a sliding glass door we had a wonderful breeze. The...

My husband and I stayed at the Ranchito Motel this past week. I am pretty picky about where I stay; having been in the hospitality industry for 7 years, I know that one place can have many different review's depending on the folks themselves reviewing. However, the Ranchito looked pretty unique on-line and I am always willing to try a...

Thank you so much for your review. In the few years we have been here we have been upgrading as we can while keeping that funky charm you eloquently wrote about. Regarding the garden comment, no we don't have botanical gardens, lol, and after the drought we do plan to improve the grounds we have. We love your comments, so...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Ranchito motel is nestled in a peaceful park-like setting on 2.7 wooded acres with a babbling brook. The original motel was built in 1946,with slumpstone brick, recycled wood beams and doors, and antique tiling in the bathrooms. Another 15 rooms were added in the 1970's, which have a more contemporary feel. The rooms are clean and comfortable with brand new beds, free high-speed wireless internet, Direct TV, HBO and Cinemax, barbeque and picnic areas. We offer a small pet friendly environment for your beloved extended family. Some rooms are equipped with kitchenettes and there is one two-bedroom suite with a full kitchen and private patio and barbeque. All rooms have available to them a free DVD lending library.
