My wife and I stayed at the Ranchito Motel on May 30. 2014 and were quite satisfied. The management and staff are quite friendly and professional and the room was well appointed, clean, airy, and I even found TCM on their televison menu! The babbling brook is restful and the trees provide a cool area for visiting and resting. It...

Thank you very much for your review. We have been working hard on improving the motel and amenities and we appreciate your kind words. Your room tip regarding reservations is very helpful as we have been pretty busy and loving it!

This old-fashioned western-style motor court is kitschy to say the least. And, yes, there really is a babbling brook that runs through the middle of the forested property. A nice feature if you're sitting outside. Rooms have been upgraded to include flat-screen TVs, microwave, coffeemaker and fridge. Soft goods -- bedding and covers -- have also been updated and are...

Thank you for your kind review! We have been putting a lot of work into upgrading the rooms and appreciate your positive feedback. Our next goal is to upgrade the gardens but that got put on hold due to the drought. Hopefully in 2015!

There are two wings...the older, Adobe-themed classic rooms straight from the 40's and a newer, more isolated section (larger beds). The staff was nice enough to make changes at the last minute (in a pinch). The accommodation in the older section was clean and pleasant. This is not a four star hotel but, then again, neither are the prices. The...

I reviewed the Ranchita four years ago and did not have a lot of positive things to stay. So I was a little trepidatious about staying here again. However, the new owners are making positive changes and it shows. The new mattress in my room was terrific. I just hope they move replacing the carpets up the list :-)

The Ranchito Motel is not your usual motel. It consists of several buildings over a treed and babbling brook setting. We were there with a group of about 15 rooms spread through out the different buildings. There is a nice outside area where the group had a nice BBQ one evening. The main room was adequate size with a fridge,...

stayed on 10/04/2013. I was told when I made the reservation(a month earlier) that I would be in room 21, one of the newly remodeled rooms and that 21 was also my confirmation number.when I checked in I was told room 21 was already taken(bait and switch) and I was being placed in room 12,but it was a "pretty nice...

We are sorry you were displeased with your stay, however, at no time, in any way have we ever claimed to have remodeled rooms. We have been doing deep cleaning and numerous upgrades in the 2-1/2 years we have owned this property including new beds, bedspreads, fridges and microwaves in all rooms, new 26" LCD TV's w/ DVD players, new...

We stayed here September 26-28, 2013. Its not your Best Western Hotel but is a cute motel in a cute town. It is set in a forest setting with a babbling brook going through the property. We had rooms in the back so it was very peaceful and quiet. The owners were very friendly and have been making renovations to...

We recently retraced our honeymoon of 30 years ago and were able to once again stay at the Ranchito Motel. We long remembered the 'babbling brook' running through the property and it is still there - the trees have that strong pine smell, so it's great to just sit outside and enjoy it all. Our room was fine and, as...

Cute little property. Could use clean up and maintenance. The bed worked, I slept fine. Was very quiet. The stream was very nice sitting in the dark just listening. Do not eat at the Pok A Dot across the street! Boobs at the counter. Bad food!!

I gave this an "average" review but the Ranchito doesn't claim to be a Four Seasons. It's like one of the old "tourist cabin" places you visited with your family if you were doing that sort of thing in the 50s/60s. Not pretentious, clean, everything worked, including the air conditioner, and it was about as inexpensive as you can find...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Ranchito motel is nestled in a peaceful park-like setting on 2.7 wooded acres with a babbling brook. The original motel was built in 1946,with slumpstone brick, recycled wood beams and doors, and antique tiling in the bathrooms. Another 15 rooms were added in the 1970's, which have a more contemporary feel. The rooms are clean and comfortable with brand new beds, free high-speed wireless internet, Direct TV, HBO and Cinemax, barbeque and picnic areas. We offer a small pet friendly environment for your beloved extended family. Some rooms are equipped with kitchenettes and there is one two-bedroom suite with a full kitchen and private patio and barbeque. All rooms have available to them a free DVD lending library. John and Tracy are new owners as of November 2010 and are striving to make the Ranchito Motel a pleasurable experience for all of their guests. ... more   less
