Budget in the name is not kidding. The employees were not hospitable at all and were quite rude when trying to check-in. The towels were near unusable from being so hard and scratchy. AC unit in the wall to cool the room down but very loud. Smelled to the likings of a nursing home and didn't go away our 3 days there. Will not be returning.

Please! Please! Do not stay here. I was needing a cheap place to stay last minute and made the gigantic mistake of staying here. The Inn Keeper was rude and not very hospitable. The room was absolutely disgusting with dirt and dust balls in all corners of the room. Mold and grossness in the bathroom and around the toilet and suspect stains on all the walls. Found out while checking out, that the smoke detector was non functioning WTF!,,. Lastly, the owner charged me an extra $11 on my second night. I questioned him about the added price and he didn’t give me a reason. Since I didn’t feel like moving to another hotel, I sucked it up and paid him. Come to find out , that is against the law to price gouge during a declared national emergency (coronavirus).

This place should be closed by the city. I am sure that there are several violations happening here. If it had not been 10:30 PM and we hadn't been on the road for 8 hours ( grapevine issues) we should have continued on home. I made the reservations earlier in the day and they knew we were on the road and would not arrive until 10-10:30 pm. When we arrived at 10:25pm the owner made us stand outside to check in . First he told me to go away and come back ???. It was hard to understand him ? talking thru a 4 x12 opening . I thought he was confused and thought maybe we did not have reservation. This is where we should have left , it only got worse from here on. Pictures say it all, I have included pictures, except for the grotesque smell of the room it is clear that they are under construction. I will be contacting the BBB and the city. This place needs to be closed. No other travelers should be subjected to this ever.

We arrived late after somewhat of a hotel hunt. It was dark and we were tired. We parked the car, took a shower and went to bed. The hotel was ok for one night. There was some kind of breakfast also, not the best, but still something to eat. We didn´t pay that much so no worries for one night.

We had no option, this was the cheapest motel in town and now we know why. The room was smelly and filthy. The breakfast small and coffee was disgusting. I don't think I will come back there and since it was the cheapest, I will probably stay in another city next time

I stopped at SLO just for one night, to visit the traditionnal Farmer's Thursday Market. I only needed a basic place to stay overnight, close to the Hwy, providing free parking/breakfast/WiFi, not far from the market, and not expensive. I found all I needed at Budget Inn. There has been no surprise. They met my expectations and I was satisfied.

Nothing totally wrong with the hotel. Just worn down, bath tub clogged, all furniture chipped, old looking. Bed was comfortable but I didn't really trust how often they clean the blanket on top of the bed. Reception wasn't very friendly, but was there every time I needed. They advertize "free breakfast" which is basically coffee, muffins, milk and cereals. 20 min walking distance from downtown, loads of parking, safe area. Had a fridge and a microwave.

we could not stay here. Had to find another hotel on busy Cal Poly weekend. Could not get any credit from manager for $120 room. Don’t stay here unless you are ok with $60-$80 room experience. We expect high room prices on busy Cal Poly weekends, but we also expect a decent room and if we can’t stay their then maybe a credit. I offered to pay half for a room I did not use, instead offered a 10% discount for during the week that of course we will not use. Avoid.

First of all, the room we were staying in is quite beat up. It feels like everything is broken. We were greeted by some very strong curry smell in the room. The furnitures, walls, and bathtub were very beat up like they are broken and dirty. The breakfast is almost close to NOTHING TO EAT except some simply cereal, and muffin, and coffee. The staff was not very helpful when his own venting machine were all sold out of drinks, took our money and he doesn't even care. For the price we paid for this hotel, we could have stayed at a better place. I would say Motel 6 is even better than this. Keep away from this place.
