See for yourself. Photos below. Paid $250 for this in July 2021. Completely overpriced. Smelled disgusting. Walls are paper thin. You can hear everything. Saw a drug deal twice. Heater and air do not work.
By far the grossest motel I’ve ever stayed at. Room reeked of pesticides, could taste it in my mouth after a few minutes. Despite the toxic chemicals the roaches were having a great time. There was dried food on the wall above the trash can. We slept in our van. If we didn’t have the van we would’ve forfeited the money and found somewhere else to stay.
Walls and paintwork have never be cleaned in years. Could only get a trickle of water from the wash basin. (I was told there must be blockage). Only one light bulb above the mirror where there should have been three. No hot water for a shower. (Was told I was turning the tap too far in the hot position). On reflection, I am glad I didn't shower. It was filthy. Fridge had never been cleaned, brown liquid stains everywhere, no shelving and rusty. Inclusive breakfast?? A coffee and a cinnamon bun. I paid £77 for the room which was the average during a 21 day stay in the USA. Had it been the lowest price, I wouldn't have has as much cause to complain. My thanks to the American people and American scenery for yet another enjoyable vacation.
first off it was a 124 so i gave him 125 to have the room for the night. he kinda looked at me like i wasnt expecting anything back.. so then he gave me back a 1 dollar coin.. we get to our room and it was ust gross the door looks like it got kicked in multiple times.. blood stain in the bathroom cracks throughout the hotel room and just dirty an nasty my stay here was not great but i already paid so me and the spouce made the best of it as we could.. DO NOT STAY HERE.. pay the extra 20 to 30 dollars at a motel 6
Bugs, filthy faucets, tub so dirty I wore flip-flops to protect my feet, grimy walls, broken furniture, not even a cup to drink from. Carpet was scary looking. Door had clearly been kicked in a few times, as it was pieced together with an assortment of screws. If it had not been late at night when I checked in, and were it not graduation weekend in San Luis Obispo (with very few vacancies in town), I would have moved right out. Here's a sample of how little care they take of this place: The toilet paper holder was broken. Did they remove it and replace it with a new one? No, they just screwed another one on another wall within reach, leaving half the old one still on the wall. Did I mention the bugs? Also, I guess because it was graduation weekend, they raised their rates to match the three star hotels.…
Our room was so dirty. The carpet was disgusting, there was fingerprints and dirt all over the walls. We didn't even take a shower because the shower was so filthy. My mattress had a huge cut in it. Someone kept smoking all night and blowing it in our window. A lot of shady people hanging around the hotel. We did not feel safe! Worst place we've ever stayed in town!
Arrived late into San Luis and needed accommodation, several places were fully booked but the Homestead had availability. I really should have looked around further. This place really is dreadful. The carpet was filthy, the skirting boards were dirty and the shower was something to behold. Paint coming off the walls and a dirty shower tray. Please nobody bother going to this place!
In every respect, this, so-called, motel is the absolute pits. Beginning with the the surly, incompetent check-in mope who couldn't locate our reservation (said the fax was broken), moving on to that promised breakfast that wasn't (said their supplier had failed to deliver the supplies), moving on to the useless wi-fi, you find that the worst part is the room; little better then a derelict flophouse, a dank, dark, and disgusting disgrace. They should be ashamed to list this sorry excuse as a place of public accommodation.
After driving for hours on Christmas Eve i finally arrived at 1:30 am(Christmas day) which the hotel was aware of my late arrival... After 15 min of ringing the bell n calling, a man in boxers n wife beater stubbles out of a back room... i had pre paid the room, and my previous call explaining my late arrival i got a single key, no key chain, and only words he said was "room 19, check outs at 10" annoyed i go to tm 19 and the room hadnt been cleaned from previous guest... I LITERALLY THREW UP... furious i go bang on the office window, he said "sold out" appalled at him thinking id stay there, he said i had to call the next day for refund... NEVER EVER STAY HERE
I booked a room here a month in advance of my arrival, just one night as I was driving down hwy 1. All was fine with my booking, or so I thought! After driving for 4 hours I arrived to find that my room had been cancelled! I had not been notified of this and the staff was very rude and unhelpful. I asked why I had not been notified of the cancelation and he stated he didn't have any contact details, when I asked to see my reservation I could see my phone number and email address were clearly listed. I tried to connect to the wifi to find somewhere to stay and that didn't even work. I ended up paying a little extra and staying across the road at Budget Inn, staff there were really friendly and room was good value. I suggest you go next door and don't bother with this place!!
