Beautiful new property conveniently located right off 101. When we arrived in the evening, the parking lot seemed full but the hotel was not full house. (I assume two car dealerships located both side of the hotel perhaps use their property for overflow cars overnight?!) The room was clean, spacious for a family of 3. Love having the kitchen, refrigerator and microwave. They offer a complimentary breakfast and the outside patio was beautiful and clean. The pool was heated and clean. Definitely stay here again in our future trip to SLO. Thank you for the great stay!

Property's Favourite Review
At the time of this writing, this new hotel only has 13 reviews and a 3.0 Star Rating. How anyone could be unhappy with this lovely new hotel is questionable to say the least. Welcoming staff, clean and new rooms, new beds, great sleep and quiet as can be. I sure wish I could say this about all the other Marriott Hotel Brands I have stayed at in the past. I am a Platinum Member and have been for 2 decades, so I know this hotel chain very well. This hotel is wonderful and deserves a far better rating than it has been getting from guests that clearly could not be made happy no matter what you give them.

I travel a ton and I don't know what kind of beds and bedding this hotel uses but I want to buy one now. It was soooo comfortable and cozy. TownePlace Suites fit our exact needs traveling as a family of four. The pool kept my kids busy. I loved having breakfast by the firepit. The staff went out of their way to be helfpul. We didn't have any problems at all with elevators (which I read in previous reviews) and we were on the fourth floor. The rooms have full kitchens and tables and all we had plenty of space. I was a little sad to find showers and no tubs (though this seems to be the norm in new hotels now.) The place is in the middle of nowhere but if you have a car it's just a 5-minute drive to downtown San Luis Obispo and a fraction of the cost of the places downtown. Don't listen to the haters, this is a great hotel that delivers exactly on what it promises: a quiet night's sleep, comfy beds, free parking, convenient location to the highway, great deal just outside of town.

staff was great and always helpful. someone at the front desk 24/7. all rooms re efficiencies. nice gated heated pool- though towels should be more readily available-, free breakfast, which is typical breakfast fare, but appreciated. dining facilities are open 24/7 for you to eat your own lunch, dinner and snacks and hotel encourages use to use them, has nice outdoor deck with state of the art grills with grilling utensils to use and tables and chairs. would highly recommend. Also, has typical gym area. Staff was very responsive getting us a pack and play crib and always answering all the questions.

Plus: Well stocked kitchen. Price not too bad for busy graduation weekend trip. Friendly staff. Easy highway access and parking. Closet has built in shelving system. Problems: No maintenance staff available on Mondays. We had problems with tv and bathroom sink that couldn’t be fixed. The only solution offered was to switch rooms. Luckily we had a kitchen sink to use instead. Bathroom has annoyingly short timer for the light. It’s supposed to have motion sensors, but showering is not enough to keep it on. Keep the bathroom door open or you’ll have to finish your shower in the dark.

We booked two nights over Easter weekend, and are Marriott Platinum members so we like to stay at Marriott brands when possible. The only other option in SLO was the Courtyard, and decided to go with Towneplace because it was newer. About an hour before arriving we called to see if a Platinum upgrade would be available, the front desk agent said they were “pretty booked up” so it wasn’t going to happen. Fine. We check in, asked again, no upgrade. I don’t think this would have irked me as much if the rest of room and hotels hadn’t been so troublesome. Lack of toilet paper for example, there was a half used roll in the bathroom, so we had to go downstairs to get more. One shampoo and one conditioner bottle. They advised us that they are in the process of installing permanent shampoo and conditioner bottles in the showers so that is why they don’t fill the bathrooms with more toiletries. No towels at the pool, so one has to ask the front desk. Breakfast on Monday ends at 9am, which seems far too early, especially considering it is a grab and go and they don’t need staff on hand to serve. I was also surprised they don’t sell any local wine or beer in the pantry by the front desk. Yes, these are all little details that seem minor, but when the average price of this hotel is in $250-350, range, one would expect more. Location is fine, it’s not close to downtown, which wasn’t a problem for us. It’s close to a Target and Whole Foods if you need to pick up anything, so that was convenient. Overall front desk was polite, Jennifer and Ari were very nice.

This hotel just opened last December, everything in the hotel is nice and new and that is the only good thing I can say. So why does it get a well deserved one star review? This hotel, like most of Marriott's other hotels, will not provide daily housekeeping services. Even after I requested to have my room cleaned on a daily basis I was told they would try but would probably not have the staff or time to get to it. Even though this hotel has only been open about four months there is already mold and mildew forming around the bottom edge of the shower. This is what happens when you do not clean your rooms. I expect this place to look pretty shabby in a year or two. This has been going on with Marriott properties since the pandemic and at this point Marriott is just taking advantage of their customers. I travel a lot and have stayed at Hilton properties and they have no problem providing housekeeping when it is requested. So for now when booking hotels I will give Hilton priority until Marriott decides to go back to being a full service hotel company. When I stay at a hotel after being out all day, whether for work or leisure, I expect to come back to a nice fresh room that has had the bathroom cleaned, the towels replaced, the bed made, the carpet vacuumed and the trash cans emptied. But that is not what Marriott now provides. Even though prices are higher than ever, services are almost non-existent. I also do not want to hear that you are not able to hire needed staff. You are supposed to be a full service hotel company. Figure out how to get the staff you need to give your customers the services they expect or get out of the business. Hotels need to provide daily housekeeping services and let customers who do not want it opt out. Going forward I plan to give any hotel that does not provide daily housekeeping service a one star online review which as far as I am concerned is more than they deserve.

I am very much disappointed with this Hotel. I was looking forward to the first extended stay Hotel in SLO. The housekeeping is absolutely HORRIBLE. You have to beg for supplies. After cleaning, the room is still dirty. They say you room will be serviced once a week??? Seriously? I have waited nearly a week and a half, then had to remind them. The hotel is profiting by cleaning less and charging the same or more When packages arrive, no notification. A receipt for my stay? Not one person has the experience to give me a receipt. The Marriott name is respected. There needs to be a drastic change in the Management and maybe some of the employees. This Hotel is jeopardizing that name. Management is responsible for the employees. Management is the problem. I believe there is NO LEADERSHIP at this hotel. Marriott needs to get this location on track before more damage is done. I will follow up with a formal complaint to Marriott. The rates they charge are not reflective of the service they provide. I will not stay here again and will advise others not to do so as well.

t's seemingly quite new and clean. The room was spacious with a kitchen and dining table if you're into that kind of thing. There's the 'standard' free breakfast - nothing I wanted but others seemed to enjoy it. I thought perhaps I'd grab a banana but they had none. Other than proximity to town (10-15 minute drive) it's an uninspiring location. Empty industrial area in between a vacant lot and an auto dealer. Northing appealing in walking distance. No views. Some traffic noise. Toiletries consisted of a tiny bar of soap, shampoo & conditioner. No lotion which I have come to expect at hotels, so I was without any. Check in was a bit annoying and long amidst what seemed to be a new employee in need of training.
