The staff was friendly and the room was clean. There was a fridge for leftovers and a basic coffee setup. If that’s all you’re looking for, this will work. I would not stay here if I was going to hang out in the room. The smell of the cleaning supplies was so overwhelming we had to leave the door propped for awhile and we couldn’t get a room earlier than three (could be because of their staff shortage though). The room’s visual flaws were just painted over instead of fixed. Parking is tight the later you arrive. The pool is in their parking lot. Very basic.
The room was clean, the bed was uncomfortable (cheap mattress) and EV charging was quoted at $10.00. The walls were thin and we got to listen to our neighbors yack through the night with music. The paint and surfaces needed a big touch up and the TV is small. For $90.00 a night this is a bargain? Your decision.
As someone who travels more than 10 times a month, due to business reasons; University Inn is my new go-to. I have stayed at numerous hotels in San Luis Obispo, but this one is definitely in the top 3 for me. The staff is beyond great and friendly, the breakfast is good, the rooms are excellent, and the wifi is very fast. Even though there are many things to do in town, it is very quiet; which is amazing for business trips.
Friendly, nice and cleaned room with 2nd floor view.Stay again.Thaursday we got Old trolly from motel.Continental breakfast little but ok.Easy check in and check out.Cal poly is near by.Front desk very helpful and tell us about Farmers market.
Husband stayed in hotel for two weeks with a team. First room seemed to be okay. Second room was infested with bedbugs. Now we realize that the bags all the mattresses are in are actually "casements," which are used when you have a bedbug infestation but you don't want to buy a new mattress. Unfortunately, husband came home between first stay and second stay, so we are waiting to see if he brought little friends into the house and have to go through our own in-home infestation. Owner was a nice guy, but no amount of niceness will compensate the possibility of his lack of maintenance possibly infecting my home with bedbugs. AVOID! Particularly room 211.
University Inn, SLO is newpainted and well situated. If You are going to Farmers Market on a thursday evening, there is a cheap tram service to and from The Inn. Rooms are fine. Breakfast is basic and OK. The hostess is kind and charming.
The room was clean, but shabby. We had a hard time getting the door to open. We would put the key up to it and it wouldn't beep and the light would turn green, but the door wouldn't unlock. Had to put your shoulder into it. Air conditioner was noisy. Parking lot is very narrow. Breakfast was cereal and bagels. It was quiet though and the bed was comfy. It was close to downtown and the freeway, so it was convenient.
Walking distance to shopping and restaurants. Clean rooms with comfortable beds. Small older pool. Small parking lot. Modest breakfast. Good service and decent value for the price. Would stay there again.
The rooms were recently updated with new furniture (March 2018) and the place has potential. The rooms were clean. There was a mini fridge, microwave, hair dryer and a coffee maker, but no ironing board. There was breakfast, but I did not try it. However there were a couple of issues. There were several people hanging in the parking lot drinking beer and playing music. The police were called to one of the room and it appeared as though they were about to arrest someone in one of the rooms. There was a lot of work being done with the new furniture being brought in.
My Stay was a flip flop from motel to motel for a month and personally my Travelodge stay was not great.
