A beautiful location with beautiful views of the ocean. The room was spacious, clean and very well priced for a family of 4. Loved walking down by the ocean and sitting by the open fire pits and listening to the waves roll in. Plenty of room outside for the kids to run and play. The one bad experience we had...

Were driving from LA to San Francisco and stopped here for the night. What a pity we could not stay longer. The motel was good, close to the beach, had fire pits with chairs around them so you could sit out on the beach front looking for whales or sea life. We really enjoyed our stay, the room was good,...

We toured Highway 1 and stopped as we drove. This hotel was more than half the price of the Best Western and worked perfect for the night. The man who checked us in was very nice however seemed a little "new". He first told us we would be on the first floor but moved us to the second floor (no...

There are no rooms with views- just to clarify- that is another motel which built in front of this one...that is the best western. This one is a good place to stay over when on the road. Everything is what you would expect at his price point - no frills but clean and tidy and a reasonable bed. The restaurant...

Don't. Just don't. Ever. Beat up, dirty and tired motel with shabby linens and a hole in the wall of the bathroom. No on site coffee or food other than a vending machine. Long brow hairs from previous resident were on our bathroom floor when we checked in.

We stayed here for one night on our way dien the West Coast. The staff were friendly and helpful, beds were large and comfy and the accommodation was clean. The hotel doesn't have a kitchen/restaurant but is partnered with the Best Western next door. Sands by the sea includes a basic breakfast at the Best Western or $3 off any...

Great location. Right on the beach side of Highway 1. Easy walk down to the beach. They have rooms with full oceanview, we did not stay in one, but they looked good from the outside, each one with a balcony to sit out on. Firepits by the beach are really nice as well as the benches that you can sit...

We didn't get to Carmel until the afternoon and so we began the Coastal Hwy trip relatively late. With all the winding roads, viewing points and the occasionally inconsiderate drivers, we got to San Simeon in the early evening. We basically stopped at the first motel we noticed and it was a good choice. The rooms were large, well appointed...

We stayed here on a family trip to Hearst Castle The good: - decent price for the area - beds are pretty comfortable - close to the beach - on the right side of the freeway (beach side) - easy checkout (key drop box) - plenty of towels in the bathroom - friendly staff - room was quiet The bad:...

The room was recently refurbished and everything looked new and clean. There's no AC, so the room was hot, but it cooled down during the night. If the temperature had been any hotter, it would have been very hard to sleep. Other guests shouting in the hallway was annoying during the night. There's a pool, which we didn't use but...
