Nice place in the middle of nowhere. A good place to stop on route 1 but there's not a lot to do in the area :). The room were nice and there's wifi but no phone reception in most areas of the hotel. It is the best place in the area from what we could tell.

We were driving from LA, on CA-1. San Simeon was there for end of day 1. We needed a place to sleep and continue the next morning. It made no sense to spend much money on fancy resort hgolels. Silver Surf Motel was there among the cheaperst. It was an excellent choice. Spacious and clean room, Parking in front of...

This motel was a good 'budget' option for the area, keeping in mind that prices are inflated anywhere near Big Sur. The location was central, for San Simeon, right off the main highway, across from the water, in the same block as all the other motels and hotels. If we were to return, we would try and stay in the...

Rooms were ok but there was no internet and cell reception was basically zero. If you call the fro t desk they give you a 800 number to call with ridiculous wait times and no solution. Not having internet in 2015 is not acceptable. Also no ice. Lame

The stay here was very cheap (65$ per night) and allowed us fast access to Hearst castle (we went to the night tour which was great). The hotel parking lot was limited and we did not find any space near our room. The rooms themselves were average, aquatics were bad and did not have any air conditioning. overall our stay...

Stayed here for two nights. Not much of a town only three restaurants attached to motels. Clean rooms but not very sound proofed. When other people flush the toilet or have a shower it woke you up! It had a pool and jacuzzi which looked like it needed Cleaning out. Location was good for seeing the elephant seals and Hearst...

We stayed in a queen room at the back of the motel. The carpet was a bit tired but the unit was clean, it had a small frig, microwave, coffee maker and a television with lots of cable channels. The bathroom was clean and functional. The bed was comfortable. Bring your own hair dryer if you need that. The price...

A bit disappointing as I booked a room with a king size bed and fireplace directly from their website. However, upon arrival I was told my booking was for 2 queens and no fireplace. After presenting my confirmation, I was then told it was a website error and there were no rooms with a fireplace available. The accommodations were average...

Stayed here during a route 1 southbound road trip. Looking for a decent standard hotel for an overnight stay and this seemed to be the best option as time slipped away. Room was compact but comfortable bed, just about clean enough with basic bathroom. Stayed in upper level and wooden walkways outside were noisy when other guests passed. Arrived late...

Nice staff. clean and quiet room and facilities. A great stop on our L.A. 101 trip to San Fransisco. The beach is just over the road. The central grass area is very nice with picnic tables so you can sit under the trees with your own food if you like. There are plenty of food options around though, even for...
