Rancho Santa Margarita, California

The RV sites are very tight, obviously built for smaller RVS than our 38 foot Winebago! This seems odd given how big the property is. But it is beautiful, and we enjoyed our hike that was recommended by a staff member.

Rancho Oso is located in a stunningly beautiful valley! It rained during our stay, so we were not able to really enjoy all the amenities of the campground, but we still had an amazing time anyway. The road to get back to the campground is pretty dark and desolate at night, but it is worth the drive, and adds the...

Rancho Oso is a very unique, beautiful and charming property set in the Santa Ynez mountains. The drive in is breathtaking and the campground itself has tons to look at and experience and we absolutely loved the nature, hiking, layout, staff and amenities. We definitely enjoyed our time in our RV site over Thanksgiving (in 2016) and even took day...

Only stayed 1 night as we made our way north, but will definitely be returning. Quaint atmosphere with the horses, covered wagons, and tiny house town. Great proximity to Santa Barbara. FYI-No cell signal on my Verizon hotspot or AT&T phone.

Overall, we had a great experience and look forward to returning in the future. We visited the ranch for Thanksgiving. Most of the staff were very friendly and accommodating. They even let us stay where we were an extra night! So happy about that! We think we might have found our new Thanksgiving tradition. There were two disappointing issues however....

We had an awesome, grateful, and peaceful thanksgiving vacation! The staff were wonderful and facilities well maintained. This was our first time at this location and we enjoyed every minute of it. The views were spectacular and the hiking/walking trails were very entertaining. It was a very peaceful atmosphere.

Had lots of fun. No WI-FI, No cable tv. Entry and exit road too narrow. Had to use a pilot car to get my rv out. Will try again as a last resort. Propane very reasonable, clean rest rooms, very friendly staff.

We go to Rancho Oso for Thanksgiving week every year. Remote enough to feel like you are getting away yet close enough to conveniences. Beautiful grounds, nice staff. As most parks, cellphone service is limited. Bathrooms are very clean as is the case with all of the Thousand Trails locations, unlike most other parks. This park attracts the nicest campers-all...
