Beautiful hotel, great location, excellent service, great restaurant. A great place for families, rooms are luxurious, a definite repeat when I return to the area. The wine selection was awesome and the by the glass menu extensive.

Spent three nights here in mid March. The service is beyond outstanding and the bungalows are spacious with gas log fire places and private decks. The landscaping is quite beautiful and the restaurant has a nice selection of soups, salads and seafood. Although the bungalows are spread out, there is an intimate "feel" to it. The spa does a brisk...

I could sum this review up one word, Perfect. From the Damien Hirst on the wall upon arrival, to the personally embroidered shams in your bedroom, everything was perfect. And I don't mean the nicest, or most expensive, or gaudiest, I just mean perfect for us. The hotel is a splurge (as I imagine it is for most people,) however...

Decompressing is the precise reason that we arrived at this sun-drenched jewel of California. A rapid flight away from La La Land to my love for sunshine, tacos, boho anything, mountains, vineyards, rugged beaches and last-but-not-least, Old Hollywood glamour. Here we lounge among the tall eucalypts, peach juleps from the club house to the pool while gazing at " Americas...

I really wanted to like this restaurant more. The view is what you go for! The service was completely inattentive...asked for bread several times (none brought), asked them to light a heater 3 times and was told none were working, but then they lit one for another table and brought it to them, needed to ask to have water filled...

Any trip you make to Santa Barbara should include a stop at the Belmond El Encanto! The food is terrific (love the Branzino)! The views from the outdoor eating patio is a grand view through the Eucalyptus trees - a truly magnificent place to have a relaxing lunch and enjoy the ocean view from on top of the hill. Also,...

What a fabulous, luxurious, beautiful property made only better by the exquisite service and personal attention to serving the customer. From a bottle of champagne, simply because we waited a few minutes for room to get ready, to providing sunscreen lotion while sitting outside enjoying the view, the staff was always willing to go above and beyond the call of...

Great rooms, great spacious bathrooms and the vibe is very relaxed. I like best that it was not overly pretentious. Great food and all around nice vibe. Great weekend getaway. Similar to the San Ysidro Ranch in terms of it's understated ranchy Santa Barbara-ness.

An intimate boutique hotel set on a hillside overlooking Santa Barbara and the Pacific, El Encanto upholds the high standards for which Belmond is known. We were upgraded to a huge Mission style bungalow (half the bungalows are in Mission style and half in California Arts and Crafts style) with a lovely balcony alongside a man-made waterfall. This is perfect...

Recently stayed for my fourth visit at this beautiful, peaceful and friendly hotel. This time I experienced extraordinary service that was above and beyond anything I would have expected. I decided to hike nearby during a free morning before my afternoon appointments. After a great hike I found that my rental car had been towed. My cell phone calls to...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Belmond El Encanto, a Forbes Five-Star luxury hotel, has been meticulously restored to capture all the romance and glamour that endeared it to both the local Santa Barbara community and visitors alike. As part of Belmond, this is the company's first excursion to the American west coast.

Ninety-two quintessential, California-styled suites and bungalows dot the lush, terraced grounds featuring seven-acres of gloriously landscaped gardens with sweeping views of Santa Barbara and the Pacific Ocean.

Original architectural features have been lovingly restored, including the historic, trellis-lined Arbor and Lily Pond. Modern additions to the expansive outdoor zero-edge pool and a new beautifully appointed boutique spa enhance the journey for today's luxury-seeking guest.
