My husband and I stayed here one night, on the end of our trip to Disneyland, to check out the pier and the beach.
Pros: The room was huge and clean
it was great walking distance to the beach and a cute coffee shop
Stayed here for 4 nights late march for my daughters 16th bday trip. I can't say enough about the place. Great beds, glass shower, fridge in room, two sinks, big space, beach 1min walk away. The roof top deck area was an amazing place to...More

I don't remember about the room safe. I felt safe. We had a double lock on our door and the staff were there through out the night for security. You are right on the Santa Monica strip of busy restaurants and hotels, so as in any city, it will be busy. But I felt safe.
