Location is between Santa monica and Venice so it is not so shabby, I like that the furniture is Ikea (at least it is not outdated). Parking is hard to get, I really really hate the fact that they charge for internet even if if it is ten box. It should be free. The girl at the front desk was...

Rooms were basic, but it's clean and really well located for the beach as well as Main Street and 3rd Prominade where all the shops/bars/restaurants/etc are. Whatsmore, there was free parking and beds were comfy. The bathroom could do with a refit in particularly (it was clean and repainted but nothing could disguse the outdated suite) and I was surprised...

We turned up at this hotel as there was a sign saying $99 new rooms. We asked if we could have a look at the room and the guy behind the desk told us that the garden rooms were better rooms for the money at $129.00. He showed us a room and it looked ok, was clean which is the...

We stayed here for the last 2 nights of a 2 week trip. The man who checked us in was fairly vague apart from when he tried to get us to upgrade to an ocean view room. Our room was overlooking the car park at the rear but was large with a nice big bed and clean white bed linen....

We arrived to find the ocean view room we'd booked was not available and we'd been given a rear room, on the busy road, but were being charged the same (high) rate because it had a kitchen. When I pointed out we didn't actually want a kitchen and why was the room I'd booked not available, I just got a...

Love it here - we only stayed one night, but for the price, the location was fantastic. This hotel is positioned right across the road from the beach. It's an older style place, but the rooms have been recently renovated with a fresh, beachy theme - quite contemporary and very clean. The hotel has a little garden area in the...

Staying in Santa Monica

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Monica
Santa Monica is a coastal town that maintains a balance as a tourist destination and as an area with a thriving local culture. On the beach, bikers, roller-bladers, runners and walkers move along the famed bike path enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather. The solar-powered Ferris wheel at the Santa Monica pier spins high above the water, while park revelers scream with delight riding the roller coaster. Inland from the beach, Third Street Promenade bustles with shoppers and street performers, where every block seems to have a musical or acrobatic act drawing crowds giving Santa Monica both the feeling of a laid-back beach town and a major commercial hub.
