Good: Convenient location. Clean rooms.

Bad: Scary fellow guests -- homeless? Not recommended at all for single women or families. Thin walls -- quiet speaking voices come right through.

I'd recommend spending the extra $10 and staying at one of the better local hotels.

I've stayed here maybe 5 or 6 times and never had an issue here. The checkin process is normally quick and they've never messed up a reservation. The rooms are standard Motel 6 rooms - small and clean. The bathrooms are standard Motel 6 bathrooms - small and clean.

Like all Motel 6 rooms there is no shampoo and no lock on the bathroom door. I don't know why they do that. I guess you just have to deal with it.

There is pay wi-fi available, coffee in the foyer from 6am, a small pool, a laundromat, and ample parking. There's a ton of places to eat nearby and a Vons across the street. Considering it's right next to the 118 freeway the rooms are quiet.

Our last stay was for a 300k bicycle ride which we finished around midnight. We had planned on driving home after but decided against it at the last moment so we showed up here and asked for a room. Two smelly people in lycra asking for a room at 1am. No problem. Thanks :-)

Was hesitant to stay here but had no other options. The staff was friendly. The room not only smelled fresh and clean, it actually was fresh and clean (and I'm hard to please). There is a lot of foot traffic outside but wasn't too loud otherwise. I am a Marriott girl so my expectations fail to meet the bar on most occasions with other brands, but this property did everything correct.

Where do I begin? When we arrived to our room, the bathroom had human hair all over the tub and dog hair all over the floor and on the walls. I went to the front desk and they were going to send someone to clean it again while we were out. Came back, office confirmed it was cleaned again but the bathroom looked the same with all the hair. Also want to mention, someone wrapped a plastic trash bag around the smoke detector. On top of this being extremely unsafe, you would think the cleaning person would notice and remove it. They switched me to another room. Guys right next to us ended up smoking marijuana in their doorway and the smell was coming into our room. I have a young daughter who kept asking what that smell was. Again, went to the office and yes she told them they can’t smoke there but that didn’t really stop them. They also kept their door open a crack all day long and into the night. I definitely didn’t feel safe especially since it was only me and my daughter. Not to mention the creeper hanging out in his car watching us walk to our room. I asked to speak to the manager but her hours were 11pm-6am. I stopped at the front desk at 5:30 am before heading out somewhere. The manager gave me 2 options. Pack my belongings at 5:30 am (we were leaving for the day) and leave it in my rental car and MAYBE they can get me yet another room when I get back OR just check out with no where to go. I didn’t find those options to be reasonable or fair. She gave me a generous $25 refund on a 5 night stay for all the trouble. Stay away from this hotel! Yes, you get what you pay for but rooms should be thoroughly cleaned before a new guest arrives and safety should never be compromised!

Used to spend 1-2 nights at this motel on a biweekly basis while working in this town every other week.
One time I was in a hurry to catch my flight. Forgot my bag which had my Canon rebel camera, cologne, clothes, shoes, iPhone with charger, and watch. I realized this error once I got to the airport and called the office. The attendant claimed the bag was found on the bed by housekeeping and was dropped in the office and I should be able to pick it up on return. They will safe keep it.
Believe it or not when I went back to pick up my belongings a week later, the whole bag was missing but for a pair of casual shoes.
4 Staff members including a female manager claimed that they all had seen the bag but they don’t understand or know how it disappeared from the office storage.
I lost afew grand’s worth of belongings, which were stolen by staff and management because the bag disappeared from the office after housekeeping had turned it in.

On raising concerns, the manager clearly told me there was nothing he could do about it. If I am offended, I should take it to court. They are not responsible for anything left at the motel, which kinda of odd if it was left in the hands of management. Called the police and got a case number. Even the Simi PD were astonished that this could happen at a hotel.

Very sad in deed, I was about to sue this damp of a place down but after consideration, it wasnt worth the time, legal fees, and headache. I instead decided to be staying at the holiday inn across the street every time I work at Simi valley which provides better services, less noisy, cleaner, affordable, and better customer service.

The place is a mess anyway: Very noisy, dogs backing and running all over the place a majority of the time, poorly kept, Police on premises to pick up lodgers on a day to day basis when I stayed there m leaving you wondering whether it was a hung out for outlaws at times.
Only advantage is that it is cheap; but came to realize that there is a reason why it is cheap – It is a place infested with thieves with or services.

Dont try to save money by staying in this damp because it might end up costing you more in the long run.

Had a last minute trip to Thousand Oaks pop up and didn't have time to book anything in advance. I drove in late in the evening, and was really tired so I decided to call it quits in Simi Valley since my appointment wasn't until morning. Considering I just needed a place to get some rest and shower, etc.. I saw the brightly lit 6 and decided to check out prices, I then saw the Holiday Inn and briefly considered turning in their driveway but noticed a weird fence around it like it was condemned or closed? Anyway I entered the office and was warmly greeted by a young man who generally made me feel like I was in the right place. He got me setup after telling me a little bit about the pool and coffee, he directed me to my room and the best parking. When I walked into the room I was blown away, by far the cleanest room I've been in for a long time. It smelled great and the look was just clean and sleek and very modern. Very European... Everything literally looked brand new.

After getting settled in, I received a call from the young man that checked me in asking how everything was in the room! I remember hanging up the phone after thanking him and thinking is this .....Motel 6? In the morning the same young man at check in asked how my night was and if I enjoyed the room. Genuinely seemed like he cared. Thank you Motel 6!

Had to leave a review for a place I became comfortable with. like most people in the beginning I was skeptical about staying at a Motel 6. it does definitely get a bad reputation but after stumbling across this particular one because of a last minute decision a became my go to place in Simi Valley! it is a typical Motel 6 so if you're looking for luxury this is not the place for you but if you want a nice clean place to sleep and an good environment with wonderful staff you can't go wrong! from the beginning All of the staff made me feel comfortable and welcomed. I am a very picky person and have a lot of extra Concerns and request and they are always met with the smile! from the maids to management They make you feel at home and do their best to take care of your every need. The property is also really clean. just like any other property there are those days where things don't always go as planned rowdy guests etc.. but from what I've seen they do a good job of keeping this property up and safe. you should give it a try and see for your self! I've been staying here every time Im in Simi valley for the last 6 to 7 months haven't left yet!

I spent more time on the phone with the front desk staff and on the phone technical support trying to get internet access to conduct my business than I did enjoying my time in the area. I brought these issues to the attention of the hotel manager and the Motel 6 corporate office. The hotel manager was rude and condescending and the corporate office was unresponsive to the issues that I raised. I have stayed at several Motel 6 locations in the past. However, I WOULD DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION or ANY MOTEL 6 LOCATIONS IN THE FUTURE.

...the other reviews are a bit old, but they seemed a little negative so I was a bit concerned. Years ago I had stayed at this hotel for a couple of weeks, and I found it very nice for a Motel 6... so I left it up to my memories not old reviews!

The hotel was very clean - the room was nice - spic and span clean - new bedspreads - only complaint about the room was the beds! They were very hard, but we were so tired from hours of driving, we didn't care.

The hotel is adjacent to the 118 Freeway so if you're a light sleeper, this hotel is not for your. Don't complain about the freeway noise if you're posting, because you know when you check in there's a freeway next to you. It didn't bother any of us though...

The Front Desk staff was great - very helpful - even gave us extra 10% off our room rates which was nice... Didn't have any problems at all --- this is a nice Motel 6 and you won't have any problems...

I, a frequent Motel 6 guest, will NEVER recommend this one to anyone. Grossly overcharging (72 bucks vs 44 bucks) for similar places. Double billed, and lacking assurance of refund.

On 5/29/2007 I called and made a one night reservation for 5/30/2007. At that time I offered my credit card to guarantee the reservation since I did not know exactly what time I would arrive.

When I arrived on 5/30/2007 and checked in I offered my credit card to pay for the room.

On 6/04/2007 I discovered that I had been billed from both presentations of my credit card, I called the motel, talked to Susan and was assured that 'after due investigation' I would be refunded the first charge.

On 6/13/2007, after seeing that no refund had happened, I once again called and Susan once again assured me that she had turned the problem over to 'Corp'.
