Detailed Reviews
We were in Simi Valley for three days as part of an event at a historic site nearby. The Grand Vista Hotel worked with the site and gave a great room rate to those volunteers that stayed there. The hotel has lots of parking and is easy to find and get in and out of. The hotel is very nice and clean. The staff was friendly and easy to work with. We did not eat at either of the restaurants in the facility though.
My wife and I had a King room and has lots of room with a king bed, couch, desk and chair, dresser, refrigerator, microwave oven and coffee maker.
The first room was recently remodeled with hard flooring. After the first night we reported a problem to the front desk and they quickly moved us across the hall for a quick and easy move. The staff was great in helping us. The second room was also very clean and the exact same layout as the first with the exception of carpet and the paint was not as new.
The only complaint was that People talking in the hallway or in next door rooms could be heard. The hotel is quite busy with lots of large groups of people so was a bit noisy at peak times. The rest of the time we were there it was quiet.
There is a large variety of restaurants within a half mile of the hotel and some large stores close by also.
Other than the problem in the first room we had a very good stay and will definitely be back in the future. With the problem we had apparently an isolated case after asking several friends that were also staying there that weekend. Again the staff moved us without any problem right away. I still have to knock the score down a point due to this.

We found the pool side a bit noisier than the parking lot side.

Having grown up in Simi, I was looking forward to staying here with my wife and two daughters.
I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to lodge in the Simi Valley area. The room was clean and I was not concerned about walking barefoot on the carpet in the morning and as I got ready for bed.
The mattress was too soft for my taste, but my wife loved it.
Given the present COVID hysteria, I was not surprised to find that there is no coffee in the lobby. I do not know if this is typical for the property. The in-room coffee was good enough to get me going and housekeeping always left extra or would give me some more pods when I requested them.
We were right next to the ice machine so that was very handy.
My family loved the hotel and we would gladly come here again. I wish I had taken some photos to bolster my review. Maybe next time.

Beautiful hotel, beautiful views from the hotel entrance, everything very clean. Room with ample space, bed comfortable, pillows kind of soft for our taste. Bathroom well provisioned. Restaurant was excellent, at least for breakfast and personnel extremely friendly and accommodating. Only drawback was the fee for parking and the room rates, which was a little high for the time of the year when nobody uses the pool or hot tub.

The hotel is old and out dated but rooms were clean. Rooms were exactly as pictured; I would say it was ok for a 1-night stay. Only about 5 minutes to Reagan Museum so conveniently located if you're visiting that.
Was disappointed at the "additional charges" they tack on. $10 to park, really? There is a huge outdoor lot; at least offer a garage if you're charging. $15 for a breakfast (cereal, fruit, yogurt, toast, no eggs or hot options) that any other hotel throws in for free! Towels were tiny and rough but did the job. Bring your own soap, the tiny bars supplied are only good for 1 person and the cheap soap doesn't lather. Not a lot of dining options close.
We stayed there because it was close to the Reagan Museum but in hindsight should have chosen hotel over location.

I will first say that the front desk staff was nice and understanding! The customer service of the gentlemen from the front was outstanding given the circumstances.
We traveled here with our toddler to come visit family. The hotel and room are not as the pictures look. We walked into our room and the whole room smelled like weed. There was also pieces of weed still on the bathroom counter. The smell was awful, the tv didn’t even turn on and there is no way they even cleaned this room with weed pieces still on the counter.
Needless to say I was not staying here, the room next to us looked like someone was actually living in it it was full of stuff everywhere.
I could not believe how dirty the hotel felt. This is not a family friendly hotel.
They were very accommodating to us in obtaining a refund so we could go to a different hotel.
This was not the front staffs fault and I want to make it a point that the customer service the gentleman provided was amazing, I was exhausted from flying all day and upset to have come to a room like that with our daughter and he completely understood.

We ended up staying here much longer than we anticipated, but the staff was stellar. Other hotels we have stayed at would tell us, "Oh, we already have your room booked, you can't stay any longer." Here they will bend over backwards to accommodate you. The only drawbacks were some rowdy and loud fellow customers, and construction noise. But those can't be helped since they're giving all of their rooms facelifts.

Was placed here by a hockey tournament. What a disappointment. The hotel is dated and tired. Very minimal amenities and the room was a throwback to the 80's. The fridge and microwave are off, and when turned on, perform poorly. My PC monitor is larger than the TV int he room. There is garbage under the bed.
The beds were small doubles, not queens. So tight quarters.
The provided breakfast was dry waffle strips and a variety of cereals. There was fresh fruit, so that was good. Most of the hockey families opted to go get breakfast elsewhere.
WIFI was good.
Could not wait to get out of there.

The Grand Vista hotel is your worst nightmare.
Horrible staff. Horrible rooms. Horrible policies.
For absolutely no reason whatsoever, management will arbitrarily not let you book here. Maybe they don’t like your attitude. Maybe they don’t like your clothes. Maybe they don’t like your breath.
Maybe they don’t like the fact that you’re kind and and have tipped … over tipped… the entire staff, including management, and have never done anything wrong. You’ve engaged in no violations, left the room immaculate, didn’t disturb anyone, didn’t make noise, and left pre-checkout.
Yet still, you are no longer allowed to endure the rancid odor, the rickety elevator in which you risk your life, the uneven floor work upon which you’re likely to trip, the ridiculous pool which is smaller than your Mom’s, the non existent room service except for a pizza plus ranch, followed by a vomit session.
And let’s not talk about the noise outside your door, the stomping, the loud voices through thin walls.
Fortunately there are many other places to stay instead. Including under the overpass.
I've reported the code violations to code enforcement and have reported the kitchen and the residence to the health department.
I am as of this writing, a LEVEL 4 Local Guide on Google Reviews and a shareholder of Booking.com.
Avoid this place.

The room was nice. It was tricky to turn on the dorm size refrigerator. It turns out there is a button on the side of the power strip that you need to press.
This hotel is in the suburbs, yet they charge for parking your car. There is no on-site street parking. I think the charge is over the top considering you aren't in the middle of a city where hotels typically charge for parking. It strikes me as a way to get more money out of you. It left me feeling less favorable about the hotel. I booked it on-line through Priceline.

Never heard of this place and had no idea what to expect. It is a large four floor mid to early eighties kind of place. Well maintained, walls, carpets and elevators all newly surfaced, so that is good. Room was large and clean. Bath half way updated with shower tiles and new vanity, old tub and bowl. Water was fine. Was not able to use pool due to work but the pool area looked great. They charge for parking which I hate. The breakfast was good enough that I came back two more days no real reason to find a diner. The breakfast buffet looked poor. Now, some other reviews mentioned bugs and some other cleanliness issues. Initially I did not see any. When I came into the bath one night with the lights off I did notice some tiny any like bugs on the tub and shower curtain, maybe ten. Also, one day I had breakfast, the next day I came to the same table and it still had my two menus, my coffee ring, and the ketchup I asked for from the day before. Since it was my mess I guess that was ok, but they didn't wipe the table for 24 hours. Breakfast is served fast. If it were not for parking fee and the other two issues I might give this place a five due to price.

Appeasing? Okay. Well, everyone is entitled to their opinion. It wasn't the greatest place ever, but compared to most hotels in the LA area, it was not at all bad.
Do Not Know but think they are OK most anywhere. Suggest you call hotel or a Service Dog agent?
