The hotel is so beautiful and tastefully designed, with stylish danish Scandinavian touch everywhere. I cannot stop taking pictures, even for us who lives in Scandinavia. The food in the restaurant downstairs is great and earthy ( I ordered a soup for dinner) and the muffin at breakfast is so good. A must stay if you are in the area!

We had a very nice stay here. The hotel is in a good location, in the heart of Solvang. The rooms are very clean and modern as is the hotel over all. The location is great for touring the nearby vineyards. The Landsby offers a simple breakfast (hot and cold cereal and pastries) but is close to many restaurants and...

I came with some friends to participate in a Monty Roberts clinic. The hotel is very close to the farm. The people are very nice and the place in itself is very confortable. The food in the restaurant is very good. Perhaps the restaurant is lacking some options in the breakfast. But, a part from that, everything was very good

Our time at the Landsby was a lot of fun. Having never been to the Ynez valley this is a great place to stay. Centrally located in Solvang it's easy to walk all around town. It's also close to all the wineries, the hitching post and everything else you might want to see if you're a Sideways fan like us....

This hotel was well worth the money and the rooms are beautiful! We had a very nice stay and would definitely come back again. The only thing that was a disappointment was the fact that they started construction at 8:00 am on a Holiday. We were looking forward to having a relaxing morning in our room. The construction was obnoxiously...

I booked a room at this hotel because another Solvang hotel reserved for a wedding I attended was fully booked. It is a beautiful, modern, boutique hotel in the heart of Solvang. I was upgraded to a two-story suite upon arrival. The bar area in the lobby is small but welcoming. They served a good breakfast in the restaurant -...

After Santa Barbara, my wife and I decided to visit SOLVANG. It is indeed a pretty little tourist town and what added to our visit was staying overnight at the Landsby hotel. It is conveniently located in the middle of the town and our room was clean and comfortable. The contemporary decor throughout added a nice european touch to the...

Overall the property is very nice. Rooms are new and look great. The best part about the property is probably the bar area and the happy hour. Bad part is the noise and the size of the rooms. Walls are paper thin and we could hear everything the neighbor did. Even when they turned on their shower it was super...

We stayed here one night in Feb. (room 48) and were pleasantly surprised. This is an old hotel, but it has gone through a complete makeover recently. The rooms are light & airy, the décor is well thought out, the beds are comfy, and the rooms and common areas are very clean. They provide high end shampoo, etc in the...

After a long drive we arrived at this amazing little hotel. The bedrooms are some of the best we have stayed in with every comfort you could imagine. Incredibly helpful and friendly staff with great Bar food and cocktails. Would definitely stay again.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Landsby, a 41-room boutique hotel, brings a unique hospitality offering to Solvang. Located in downtown Solvang, a small town in the heart of the Santa Ynez Valley, the property combines a bright contemporary design with Scandinavian elements inspired by the town's Danish roots. The Landsby, which means "the village" in Danish, offers an authentic hospitality experience to both visitors and locals. Designed by Santa Monica-based design firm, Studio Collective, the hotel incorporates a Scandinavian lodge aesthetic with a design nod to the past. The welcoming lobby and bar have a lively atmosphere and makes for the perfect place to enjoy a craft cocktail or glass of locally-produced wine. The bright and welcoming guestrooms, including several junior suites and our signature tower suite, is finished with blonde woods, brushed brass fixtures, genuine leather accents and sophisticated, yet comfortable, handcrafted furnishings. The rooms feature whimsical artwork commissioned by a regional artist and thoughtful accessories, which work together to create a residential ambiance. All guests have access to the property's outdoor garden lounge. It provides an oasis for guests to relax and unwind among lush landscaping and romantically lit trees. Additionally, the property serves as an ideal retreat for meetings, with multiple meeting venues offering a total of 2980 square feet. The property also provides full-service amenities, catered meals from the restaurant, as well as access to courtyard and garden areas that can be used for breaks. Mad & Vin, the hotel's restaurant, is inspired by the local wine region of the California coast. The name of the restaurant, which translates to "food and wine" in Danish, continues to play off of the hotel's Scandinavian inspiration. Our Executive Chef creates dishes that captures flavors from around the world and incorporates them into foods native to the area. The restaurant offers dinner Tuesdays - Sundays days in addition to daily breakfast. Complimentary breakfast is included for all hotel guests. Located 35 miles northeast of Santa Barbara, The Landsby is centrally located in downtown Solvang and steps away from boutique shops, bakeries, art galleries, sidewalk cafes, wine-tasting rooms, and restaurants. ... more   less
