The man at the front desk was very nice and helpful. The room isn’t bad, the beds were comfortable, the room smelled good, and the bathroom was sufficient. One of the reasons we stayed there is because we saw a beautiful continental breakfast with danishes advertised and there was nothing! Also, the front office does not open until 9 AM so I had to find a housekeeper and ask her when the breakfast began while my family was starving in the room. At over $300 a night you would think they would provide some sort of breakfast foods! I will never stay here again!
We enjoyed our stay at the Inn! It might not be right in the downtown action but the walk is so short and gave us a little exercise after eating such great food in downtown Solvang. (Seriously, the walk is so short). We enjoyed the hot tub and the jetted tub. The room was larger than we expected! Would advise staying on the top floor, we really enjoyed it :)
We thought we'd try this "hotel" as the pics online looked nice. The most impressive thing about this hotel is the rooms were clean and the curtains were nice. Kudos to housekeeping for their hard work and attention to detail. Without the cleanliness, I don't think this place would be around much longer. The beds were very comfortable which was great after being on our feet all day. That being said, this Inn needs some TLC. The carpet is close to black and starting to wear. Paint needs to be freshened. Our toilet screamed! I don't know how, but it screamed! A very high pitch and loud scream! We could not flush at night or it would wake up everyone. AC did not work very well and we were all hot at night. The regular sized tub had jets but it did not look fresh enough to use. It had been cleaned but just looked tired and I didn't want to take a chance, so I didn't try it. The fridge wasn't plugged in and it stunk. It also never got cold. We looked to possibly turn the dial up, but the dial had been ripped off. The girl at the front desk seemed tired and possibly over worked. She didn't smile and seemed like she didn't want me to ask her the questions I was asking about the room. She was there all three days. The first day, the pool water seemed ok and the hot tub was a bit weird but seemed clean enough. There are a bunch of either chlorine holders or drain covers in the bottom of the hot tub; some are loose and some are secure. I don't know what is happening there, but it was weird and you can't step on the bottom. The second day we swam and the pool was dirtier, still not bad, but when we took our bathing suits off, they were full of debris from the pool. We also got in the hot tub again, but as soon as we sat down, we noticed it had a very fowl odor and got out immediately. I'm hoping the smell comes out of my suit! There is also some sort of weird, peeling felt on the pool deck. I don't know what this is and I've never seen it before. It almost looks like something was put down, but it started coming off, so they peeled it off, but it didn't come off completely. The only benefit was that it was cool on my feet. Free breakfast is still not offered so we didn't get to try that. Lobby didn't quite look like the pictures, but it was fairly nice and clean. Garden areas looked like they were nice at one time but they needed to be weeded and plants added. There were also plants in their original pots around the parking lot, that looked like they were going to plant them but then they forgot. There is also a VW bus sitting in the parking lot that clearly hasn't moved for a very long time. It wasn't an issue but made me wonder if some people were living there full time. There was a disposable glove on the path to the parking lot that sat there all 3 days. No maintenance crew to pick it up I guess. There is a little waterfall that greets you as you drive up, but it is covered by a piece of acrylic that is partially falling down. I don't know why there is acrylic there as the water is running. Seems useless. The location is ok. If you can walk a few blocks, you will be in town. This could be a cute little place, but it really needs some help. I would not call it a boutique hotel by any means. It could be a cozy Inn, but it needs some TLC and more staff.…
Good location for a 5 minute walk to the main shopping/drinking. Clean hotel with small pool and hot tub. Easy to check out by putting your room card in a box and leaving. My only comment would be the pool towels had been cleaned but still had stains on them.
We spent 2 nights and had 2 room for Dec. 29 and Dec. 30, 2021. Melissa at the check-in desk was very efficient and very friendly. The lobby was decorated pretty for Christmas. While the room was clean, it was very out-dated and rundown. There were places on the wall that were repaired with plaster and not repainted. The heater was hard to operate and did not give the temperature. When we came back the second day, our room had not been cleaned. The bed was unmade, the towels were still laying on the floor, and nothing was refreshed and replaced. We even had our Maid Request sign hanging on the outside of our door while we were out touring for the day. I went to the lobby to report our room was not cleaned and they told me they do not clean the rooms for stay overs. We were not told this at check-in. I requested fresh towels and the young gal said she would bring them right away. We waited over 30 minutes and no towels so I went to the lobby and requested them again. A young man told me she must have forgot so he brought them right away. We did not have any clean drinking glasses for Day 2 and had to request more coffee for the coffee pot in the room. We paid nearly $600 for a two night stay for one room and were hugely disappointed. We did not getting anything even close to that value and price. We did not get what we paid for!!!!…
My daughter and I got to the hotel late and checked in. When we realized I couldn't get into the room with my wheelchair, we went back to the front desk and no one was there. We had to move the bed to be able to get into the slider among other pieces of furniture. I was so upset and tried to talk to someone in the morning. No one was there and the office was locked like the night before. I was so bruised from having to get around the room. The bathroom had no bars on the toilet. There was one vertical behind the toilet to get into the tub/shower. I couldn't get to the sink and had to remove a towel bar to get to the sink to wash my hands. It was an abysmal experience. .
My room was clean but dark and the bed was extremely high and not particularly comfortable or soft. Could only make one cup of coffee at a time.. the bathtub is very high and difficult to get in and out of and the bathroom was very small. They had a continental breakfast. Robles with the key card twice. Very close to market. No one was in the office at 3:45 on Tuesday afternoon tea check out
I don’t think there is a bad location to stay in Solvang since the main town is pretty compact. Upon arrival I was informed that there was no breakfast. It was only a continental breakfast but there was no price reduction. Other places give a food credit or provide wrapped snacks. As in many places there is no room cleaning daily. This is not a problem except trash removal or a place to put trash would be helpful. There was 1 trash container near the front of the property. It is also an inconvenience to have to ask for more coffee each day. The room was OK. Hard flooring would be nice as the carpet was old. It was nice having a comfortable chair .
Our room was clean and all the amenities are great. It is a perfect room for a quick trip to Solvang. It is within walking distance of the Solvang strip. Parking is easy. We left an expensive bottle of wine and they sent it overnight and we got it the next day. I personally loved that the hotel was low-key. The pool was great too. We will come back to the Kronborg again.
Front desk mostly unattended. Rooms need to be updated as they are a bit worn out. Only plus side is the location - not in the crowded center, but 5 min. walk from it. Check other options before going to this place.
