We ate at the Wairoa restaurant at the Clevedon Hotel on October 6th 2016, a Thursday night. The wait staff were very polite and obliging, however there was no wine list available and very few wines on offer. The size of the meals were not generous and my serving of pan fried fish was miniscule - I came away hungry....

Service was ok but the quality of the bar meals was a disappointment. Ate here in April on a Monday night and the menu, meal size and quality was great, hence the return visit. On a Wednesday night in August the place was dingy and the food was lacklustre and the menu poor.

Our family party of 11 (all locals) booked a table for a birthday celebration meal. On Tuesday (winters night) the restaurant was closed but they booked us a table in the bar. On arrival...expecting a basic meal...we found they had set us a table in the restaurant. The service was very friendly and attentative. Food...good country pub, so we had...

We were expecting a spacious restaurant and found a small food area with a basic setting. Perhaps suitable for the locals however visitors would not enjoy this restaurant. On ordering we were informed that some items were out of stock ? This was also upsetting. The food presentation was average and the waiters were slow since they were serving a...

We stayed here last night to attend our daughter's engagement party, which was being held in the pub, after having to change our overnight plans at very short notice. Only one of the rooms has an ensuite and that was already booked, but we were happy to do without because of the convenience of staying at the party venue. We...

Visiting from England we had an evening meal with some family who live locally.Excellent food and service on a quiet midweek night. We all had diferent dishes and were well pleased. No room for desserts due to large portions.Prices were on a par with English pubs and as we later found out prices similar in other establishments in N.Z.

Called in for a casual meal, the staff were fine, there were a few people eating in the garden bar, so we ordered a meal. We were told the fish was gurnard which it definitely wasn't, The salad was nearly warm and the greens were in some cases yellow, However, the fries were great. We were really disappointed, as we...

Enjoyed a wonderful lunch with some yummy New Zealand wine. As vegetarians we were given plenty of options. Friendly and accommodating staff. Food was hot and portions generous. Plenty of parking. Clean toilets. Worthwhile the drive in gorgeous New Zealand countryside.

We had to make an urgent trip to Clevedon for family reasons and found the hotel to be very satisfactory. We needed 2 rooms and they were both clean and comfortable. The manager and staff were very friendly and helpful, would definitely go back again.
