Punchline: clean, well run, competitively priced, and solid complimentary breakfast. Pros: *Location - 6.5 miles closer to Alpine than downtown Truckee & Pepper tree is walking distance to most T.City restaurants & shops. *Bed was solid: not a premium mattress, but I have a lean frame that does not tolerate bad mattresses, & I slept well. This one was neither...

The hotel is right off the main road. during the snow storm the covered parking was a huge plus. The rooms were warm and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful, nice breakfast to start the cold day in the snow.

This is an interesting looking hotel across the street from Lake Tahoe, nice central location, very friendly staff. Rooms are very dated, not enough plugs. we asked for and got a Handicapped room, only had a Queen bed, uncomfortable wooden chairs in the room, but there was a fridge, microwave, coffee maker. Room was clean. Bed not wonderful. we would...

This particular reviewer first visited the Pepper Tree Inn during the Summer of 1975 and had a great experience; things have not changed. If you want to stay here, it is easy to find; just look off the main road for the easily recognizable pictured sign. Nearly all the rooms have a relaxing lake view. See the photos. If you...

Nice, older motel and tower right on main drag overlooking lake and all commercial and historical venues. We walked everywhere in town. Well maintained and updated, but smallish rooms. Very friendly and helpful staff; owner manager on-site and checks rooms daily. Outstanding view if you face east (lake). So-so breakfast---mostly carb ladened BUT has in-room coffee makers that grind the...

September 25th, 2016 Hotel, or should I say Motel was fine. Clean, good continental breakfast, pretty outdated. However, my biggest concern was that it had NO HEAT until October even though the weather went down into the 30s!!! They do have small electric heaters, but when we called to ask for one they said they ran out. By California State...

Everything other people have said is right on. The location is perfect for being in the hart of town. Not fancy, but clean, would stay again if the need arises. Great pool, the elevator leaves a little to be desired though.

We needed a room and just stopped. We ended up with a room on the 7th floor of the tower having a great view of the town and the lake. We liked it so much that we stayed again on our return trip. There was music at the Commons Beach that we could hear plainly from our balcony, but it...

Although more cozy and quiet cabins available in area at a comparable price, pepper tree motel is conveniently located downtown and affordable. Rooms comfortable, simply appointed but cozy. Good complimentary breakfast and heated pool good. Recommend for good value.
