Tamara happened by fluke as initially, the plan was to stay at Taj Madikeri, but Taj was sold entirely for a few days, so I split the trip between Taj and Tamara. The start was good as soon as the booking took place, and Divya Selvaraj from Tamara got in touch and organized some of the travel needs from Bangalore airport to the resort. She was very helpful during the entire stay as we had to move a few dates, and she made it all happen. Getting to the resort is a bit of a hindrance, but we got a call-in advance saying the route to the hotel is a little narrow, so we should be just fine. The reception doesn’t do justice to the resort, and I think that was the only thing we were underwhelmed post that it was all uphill. The resort is nestled practically in the coffee plantation, and the rooms are tree houses surrounded by greenery and great views. The service and hospitality are exceptional that we ended up staying there was four days instead of two days initially planned. They have also scenic pathways from the suites to other parts of the resort. Naveen, the executive chef, and his team do a great job of keeping you fed with various cuisines. The service at the counters was brilliant, led by Mr. Bhathal and his team. Naveen is very hands-on and even took special requests and cooked food on the menu. The housekeeping did a brilliant job and even surprised us with some decorations done by Lathika and Manoj. Lots of activities on offer, so depending on how active you want to be, you can choose an activity a day or multiple actions. We ended up playing some tennis, cricket, star gazing, and some treks. Overall, we never heard a no in the four-day stay, and people and staff went out of their way to make our stay pleasant, and we were pampered. A must stay if you are visiting Coorg.

This was our second visit to tamara. We are a senior citizen couple and tamara staff took such immense care of us. Truly amazing staff, prince would be at our table every meal to see if we were comfortable, chef Naveen made amazing kheema for us, me being diabetic ,Naveen made the most yum souffle sugar free. The rooms are just beautiful, shruthi was always concerned about our safety. Oh and the massage was to die for!! Tamara resort is like going home! The beauty and serenity leaves one totally at peace. Excellent place for weekend getaway. 184 acres of coffee plantation with fantastic cottages. Well organised treks. Pristine water streams, fresh air, friendly staff, excellent service. If you don’t plan to walk, make sure you call for a buggy 15 mins in advance. Ajay Rana F&B was an extraordinary host and never ceased to surprise! Dr Sunita guest relations and Mr Anand the front office manager were extremely helpful.

Rooms are very well located, All rooms have good Privacy, facing the rain forest, Suit deluxe rooms are excellent with huge balcony, dining and living room facility. Food quality is very good, the Restaurant team is very courteous and attend to need immediately. Especially Dinesh He is excellent in terms of Guest handling. Also Manujnanth, Bidappa, Ashwin and Akilesh are good. Restaurant interiors are nicely done and placed in a good location. You may have to wait for a buggy for approx 10 mts, If you can walk or climb stairs then it saves time. The approach road closer to the Property is very narrow, need to be careful while driving.I had stayed in some of the luxury properties in Coorg and Madekari, when it comes to overall rating Tamara is best

Unique nature experience, with some snags Positives - Cottages, at elevation and on stilts, nestled amongst coffee and flora, each with a full forest and valley view - Clean air, clean rooms, with a high level of attention to COVID safety and hygiene - Polite staff, eager to help So-So - Rooms - somewhere between 'comfort' and 'luxury' levels - Food - needed adjustments to get right - Trekking/Experiences - can be improved, hence, 3rd day gets a bit dull if you do not step out of the resort Not so Good - Need to use the buggy for getting around, coupled with overstretched staff, and patchy co-ordination - SPA is expensive, as it generally is, but then ...
