This was our second visit- 4 years later- same amazing food, great hospitality, incredibly welcoming and warm. And then the views!!! Spectacular!! We got to walk down to the beach, build a fire and make s'mores, drink great wine, eat amazing chowder, and then wake to a breakfast that only someone could dream of. I cannot wait to get back!!

We were there last May in 2014. The Inn itself is gorgeous, the staff initially welcoming and accommodating but I don't think they like people from the south. We rescued an elderly gentleman who fell down the stairs leading to the beach by carrying him back up to the inn. We suggested he take Ibuprofen or tylenol and was immediately...

Devastated is, I believe, the word that comes to mind when I read your comments. Since ten months have gone by since you visited us, I am truly hoping that the memories of your stay have been diffused with time. The difficulty for us is: everyone here has no recollection that either of the incidents you describe ever occurred. We...

Staff is super accommodating and the food is spectacular. The views can't be beat, and access to the semi-private beach is a wonderful bonus. Only took us about 15min to drive to Redwood National Forest, so it's a great place to explore the park from. Their deal in the winter includes both breakfast and dinner made in house, for less...

My husband & I spent one night at the Lost Whale Inn during our trip up the coast in October. The host was quick to greet us and show us to the Sea Lion Room, which has a great view, a small balcony, and a large bathroom. It has a romantic bed, but I will say it seemed a little...

The Lost Whale is a beautiful inn located on the Pacific Coast in Northern California, near Trinidad. My son's wedding in June brought together friends and family to enjoy the spectacular view and gracious hosts. The rooms are unique and lovely. Nearby Trinidad offers access to beaches and a memorable seaside flavor. There are innumerable breathtaking groves of redwoods and...

As I was planning our summer trip to the west coast, I searched for the perfect location to serve as our home base when visiting the redwoods. The Lost Whale was ideal. The grounds are gorgeous..looking at all the flowers while listening to the sea lions was awesome. We had an amazing view of the ocean from our bedroom...like a...

This B&B is a beautiful old home on the Ocean. The view is fabulous, grounds are well kept and secluded. If you are in good shape a steep walk down to the ocean is open to you. We lucked out to be there during their winter weekend dinners, where a wonderful dinner and full breakfast was available for our stay....

I found this place on a whim based on reviews and am so happy I did. I've never wanted to write a review for a place after only being there an hour. SERVICE: We made the reservation only an hour before showing up and were told we would be the only people staying there that night. Despite this, Brian managed...

We were recommended this B&B Inn by a stranger. It would not normally be our sort of place but it was brilliant. We didn't have a booking so turned up by chance. We were made very welcome. The ambiance was good, the food exceptional, head and shoulders better than anything else we found on our trip to California. The room...

I am generally a B&B snob, having started my own boutique hotel career at a four diamond inn with a Swiss proprietor and I must say, The Lost Whale Inn blew me away!! We arrived after dark, having decided to stay up North for one more night. A late night dip in the hot tub was a fantastic end to...
