Horrible!! No heat. Space heater in rooms. No one up front to help you out. Loud music from the bar downstairs. You can hear the guest in other rooms conversations. Wood floors that creak. Paid over $200 for no sleep and being cold. Never again!! Plus they wouldn't let me have 30 more min to check out. What kind of...

The people who run this Inn are lovely, with two fine young sons "helping out" by being friendly and courteous to guests; so I wanted to give the place kudos. However, instead I will offer a few caveats. It's nobody's fault that "on the river" is a misnomer during this drought in California -- the poor little Truckee Trickle can...

It was not possible to have less interest in us....and this combined with a grim breakfast and an poorly maintained facility gives this property two stars...as a gift. We seemed to interrupt the owners who were at the bar having lunch...and were kindly shown the room...we ordered a rollaway bed for a child and the room was so small that...

My husband and I spent one night here during a long stay in Truckee with our extended families and it was lovely. We chose it on location alone, and while some of the previous reviews gave me pause after I made the reservation, we loved it! There is nothing "hostel-like" about it. The room is adorable, the bed super comfortable,...

We wondered a bit when we drove up but from the moment we entered, we were charmed. This is a historic hotel and thus has all the character and ambience that makes you immediately comfortable and wanting to move in for an extended stay. Our spacious room had an oldish 4-poster bed, really comfortable, and a claw-foot tub. Some paint...

I think this little hotel has been one of the most memorable places I have ever stayed in,and I really enjoyed my stay! There arm some comments in other reviews stating excessive train noise...yes trains do (very infrequently) go past but to be honest I quite liked hearing them rumbling past. I met one of the owners and he was...

This SHABBY hostel-like building needs a thorough cleaning... also large sections of wall plaster cracked and missing in bedroom. In addition, their "breakfast" offerings are, compared to any good B&B, very disappointing.

When making my travel reservations I noticed on their website cute pictures and describing a full breakfast only to be disapointed on both notes. Our inn was more like a hostel, the rooms were decorating with Walmart-ish decor. When I decided to have breakfast at 9 am, there were only breakfast food wrapping on the counter. I brought this to...

We came to Truckee by train. The inn is very convenient to the station. A big plas for us. The rooms are nice, very clean. The breakfast is modest but certainly enough for me. The hosts were pleasant and it was nice dining with the other guests in the AM. We were not bothered at all by train noise but...

We love this place. Wendy and her husband Matt are great. Location is excellent for us (stone's throw from charming downtown, quick drive to 3 good ski areas, etc.). The accommodations are nice but not perfect as you would expect for a B&B (torn shower curtain in our room, towels could be replaced/softer (maybe washed with vinegar), smaller room we...
