Last week we paid our first visit to the Union Inn in Volcano, CA - it was excellent and we will definitely return. This is an old hotel from late 1800's that has been renovated and it is well worth a visit and I would highly recommend it as a couples getaway. We had booked the largest of the 5... More

We stopped for lunch and found it to be a nice Inn and Pub with pretty good food. Their appetizers are so big, they can make a meal themselves. We ordered two along with our meal and didn't even come close to finishing. Atmosphere is rustic and servers were good. Only problem was how long it took to order and... More

We booked a room for 3 nights to celebrate our 35th anniversary. Its a very small hotel, just 4 rooms above a restaurant and pub. We booked one of the king rooms, the Limon and it was quite spacious with 2 doors opening out on to the balcony and a good sized bathroom with claw footed tub and separate shower.... More

My first experience at The Union House & Pub was obsoletely fascinating. There is so much history in Volcano. The little town has a lot to offer. They have a wonderful Hotel and a most delious bakery. (Gluten free breads available). A wonderful place/town for all to experience!

What an amazing place! I discovered it in the Back Roads of California travel book and could not be more pleased with the entire vacation. The town of Volcano is adorable and totally worth its own review, but, I’m here just to talk about the Volcano Union Inn & Pub, so here we go. Arrival was super easy. We parked... More

Food and ambience, outstanding. We are familiar with the Inn and booked two nights for friends visiting from Seattle. Volcano Inn serves an excellent breakfast with large portions to all their overnight guests. Also provides coffee, tea, fruit and homemade pastries to guests to eat at their own leisure. The Inn is from the Gold Rush, well maintained, clean with... More

I absolutely loved this hotel. It was built in in 1880 and only has four rooms. We were in room number three which is very spacious and has a huge front balcony to sit outside. Even though the hotel is old the rooms were very modern. There is no cell phone reception so you are really off the grid. I... More

This is our very favorite place for great food anytime we are up in Amador or going wine tasting in the Shenandoah Valley. Always excellent food, a great beer and wine selection and great service. They use the freshest ingredients, vary the menu with local seasonality and have great deserts too. If you're traveling to the Jackson area, definitely put... More

A Sunday day trip to Daffodil Hill and Black Crevice Cave ended with lunch at the Volcano Union Inn. A modest menu produced a delightful and tasteful meal. The duck and asparagus appetizers were a great start. Our group ordered and shared many items on the menu and all decided that lunch at the Union Pub was definitely a place... More

Excellent food and personal service. Enjoy dinner by the fireplace, or a drink at their cozy bar. Rooms are cozy and exactly what you want from a small-town, independent B&B. Small bedroom but large bathroom, and the best service you could ask for! Warning that you'll need to arrive before 9 in order to check in and get service :)... More
