Staff are really helpful and friendly. There is a bar that plays music every night so basically it is always too noisy to sleep. Totally pointless functioning as a hotel. They tend to randomly turn the music up as well. Would definitely not stay here again nor recommend anyone else to. Unless you don't want to sleep.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for the weekend and found it to be like a big spring break party. The hotel itself seems to bit a bit overpriced. They have some cool unique things in the lobby. The rooms are supper minimalist and plain. I think its a great hotel if you want to stay and party...

Location is fairly good, although don't let the address fool you. Pros: Fun, youthful vibe, especially around the pool. Interesting events (i.e. we saw a great band play on one of the nights). Pretty cheap compared to other hotels in L.A. Funky decor. Cons: It's technically in West Hollywood, but it's right on the border so it's definitely in a...

I stayed at the standard last year and I can honestly say its the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. Ever. From the outside, it looks cool and "hip" but once arriving in your room, its a classic case of a polished turd. It is an old hotel that has had a coat of paint (done poorly) finished off...

Thank you for taking the time to communicate your concerns to us. We are very sorry that the service you received from our staff was not up to your expectation. I am happy to report that we have been working very hard at training our staff and giving them with tools to provide our guests with not just great service...

This place has great common spaces- the pool is really nice amazing. The ground level restaurant has a retro/diner feel and the food it quite tasty. That being said the rooms are kind of a let down, they're sparsely furnished rather small, and not anything special. The service is also so so.

If you're looking for a quiet hotel, or even a quiet room, this is not for you. But if you're looking for a good value, clean room and a convenient Hollywood location, this is great. The front staff is very accomodating, the opposite of the hipster lobby. The rooms are spacious, well laid out, slightly dated but clean. The only...

Was very disappointed in my stay at the Standard. Rooms are outdated and if you get a room facing the pool, it's extremely loud (that's why they give you earbuds). No control over the air conditioning and although its February, they only put the AC on for a few hours during the day and then heat is on at night......

Excellent staff, location and service... but the windows are thin and terrible... complimentary earplugs are never a good sign. Sunset Blvd is a very busy road, so you know what you're letting yourself in for when you book this place... but i've stayed in hotels in Manhattan which are triple glazed, and you don't hear a thing - even when...

The Standard is on a great location close to Weho with a great view. It has a image as a party hotel but The Standard is partied out and it's showing. Everything is supposed to be very cool but instead is aged and cheap. This I assume was an old Motel which was converted with paint, slogans and Hipster employees...

Staying in West Hollywood

Neighbourhood Profile
West Hollywood
For years, West Hollywood has been known as a hub for the LGBT communities in Los Angeles. Today it still maintains the title, but has also become the “it” neighborhood for the entertainment industry’s up-and-comers. Producers, directors, writers and aspiring actors call this area home. Known for great boutique shopping, vintage clothing stores, home décor shops and fitness studios, West Hollywood is a grid of wide boulevards and narrow residential streets. The neighborhood also has a concentration of the most avant-garde restaurants in Los Angeles (rivaled only by the burgeoning restaurant scene Downtown). A trip to the iconic Sunset Strip, with its many clubs, music venues, hotels and flashing lights won’t be forgotten.
