Nestled in an ideal location, the Hyatt Regency Westlake garners mixed reviews, with many guests appreciating the comfortable, clean rooms boasting good views, while others note concerns over noise and dated decor. While the hotel's atmosphere is often described as welcoming, some travelers question the value, pointing out steep room rates and additional costs.
The amenities, including a quality breakfast and commendable service, are well-received, though there are occasional mentions of limited offerings and lapses in responsiveness from the staff.

Hyatt Westlake, a great place to stay. I don’t think we could’ve found a more comfortable bed. Didn’t want to get out of it in the morning. The facilities were top notch. We used the pool and loved that the towels were provided. Great having a restaurant and bar on site but don’t miss the delicious deli located directly behind the hotel.

We stayed in the hotel for 12 days in February 2020. The room had a modern shower cubicle and a huge TV, the bed was large and very comfortable. The breakfast was also very good. The housekeeping was below expectation with the room not being cleaned during the several hours that we were out of our room. the lifts were dirty and the staff used the lifts to move heavy furniture and did not give preference to guests. I hired an electric car as one of the reasons for booking this hotel was that it had electric charging points. However, the electric charging points were regularly blocked by non electric cars and one of the days we could not get our car out of the space as it was blocked in by a large truck for a wedding that had taken place at the hotel - the driver was nowhere to be found.

Dear TFS, Thank you very much for allowing us to be your home for a couple of weeks, and for sharing your overall positive experience with us. I am pleased to hear you enjoyed all the amenities our freshly renovated rooms now offer, and the locally sourced CA cuisine of Harvest Kitchen to your liking. As for your challenge with prompt cleaning of your room, your comments will be shared with our Executive Housekeeper for training and improvement purposes. You also raise a valid point about the charging station parking spots being blocked, so we have added an hourly spot check of this area to our Valet's list of duties. Thank you for bringing this to our attention because we are a green hotel, and would never want to impede the efforts of our guests to reduce their carbon footprint. We hope to see you again the next time your travels bring you to the scenic Conejo Valley, and our beautiful village.

Overall really great hotel ! Staff was very efficient in the check-in and check-out process as everything was completed within minutes. The room was spotless and bed was very comfortable. The location is close to the beach/Malibu/Ventura which allows for tons of sight seeing.

Thank you for taking a moment to share your experience with us. I am happy to hear our staff provided you quick and easy trips to the front desk to get in and out on time. Our Housekeeping team is exceptional and take incredible pride in making sure every last spec of dust gets removed, so I will be sure to share your comments with the team. A lot of people do not realize how close we are to Malibu, so thank you for pointing that out. What's even better as guests headed to the beaches from here can take the famous Mulholland Highway and enjoy all the twists and turns through the scenic Santa Monica Mountains, before being spilled out onto the ocean and the beautiful PCH. We hope you will return to see us again, the next time your travels bring you to the beautiful Conejo Valley.

They clean the room once every 4 days. They don't even enter your room to clean out the trash. You can access additional shampoo, soap, trash bags, coffee, etc. by asking at the front desk. The restaurant is open for breakfast and again after 4:30. The menu for dinner consists of three items. The toiletries bottles are minuscule as is the size of the soap. It is a truly bare bones operation.

Dear Elizabeth, Thank you for staying with us and taking the time to share your feedback. Our housekeeping policy is highlighted as a banner on our website, as an alert at the time of booking, within your confirmation email, a pre-arrival email, at check-in, and via an in-room letter in each guest room. We are working on uncovering additional ways in which we might notify potential guests. A one-touch call to Guest Services will deliver any toiletries, towels, and empty the trash right away. You may also modify the housekeeping policy to better meet your needs by visiting Guest Services. We did have a Christmas Dinner pre-fixe menu, so perhaps that is what you saw, as we have over a dozen dinner items to choose from daily.

We were there for a four day stay. But they only clean the rooms very four days. So our room was never cleaned. We ran out of toilet paper, washcloths, towels, clean sheets, toiletries, coffee. If we needed anything, we usually didn't discover it until we were in the shower, on the toilet, brushing our teeth...It was ridiculous. Like staying at a youth hostel. We didn't feel it should be our job to notify the front desk every time the room needed stocking. We're not paid Hyatt employees in charge of room restocking.

Dear Mike, Thank you for staying with us and I am very sorry to see we fell way short of expectations. The current policy at all Hyatt Hotels is to provide housekeeping services on the 4th day of a guest's stay for the protection of our guests and associates. This policy is disclosed at time of booking and at check-in. If this is not your preference, the Guest Services team will amend your servicing schedule to meet your needs. While all of our amenities are available at Guest Reception, it is hard to argue that the current situation is less than ideal and below the level of service one would expect from the Hyatt Regency brand. I certainly do not want to make excuses; however, the hospitality industry has been decimated by this pandemic both in terms of mass layoffs over a year ago to the present reality that individuals are not eager to return to the workforce. This has caused major challenges with staffing at the property level, as well as throughout the entire supply chain that provides the commodities needed to keep a large hotel fully operational. The uptick in business was rapid, which is a very good sign and I hope we can catch up just as soon as possible. I do hope you will give us another try down the road and please feel free to reach out to me directly so that I can make sure you enjoy an exceptional stay in Westlake.

The Hyatt Westlake is a beautiful hotel. As soon as you walk through the entrance doors you feel like you are staying in an upscale hotel. My only complaint was the water pressure in my room. Overall, I would recommend this hotel.

Hotel is decent but very disappointed about their cleaning procedures. When we checked in they told us they don't clean the room until 4 days what you saying is due to covid. I had multiple rooms and we stayed 5 days. One room they never cleaned. The other room they cleaned after 4 days which doesn't make sense since we're staying 5 days they should have cleaned it in the middle after two or three days. Spoke to the management and they really did nothing about it. Understand that staff is short but when you spending so much time in hotel they really need to be a little more accommodating.

Dear Ms. Safman, Our housekeeping policy is outlined in the following ways: 1) a headline banner in bold on our website, 2) at time of booking, this notice is again show, 3) in your confirmation email once you've booked, 4) via the pre-arrival you receive a few days prior to your arrival, 5) at check-in, the Guest Services Agent reviews this policy in detail with each guest, and 6) in a letter placed in every guest room. We do try to make accommodations for each guest's particular needs; however, during sold out dates we simply do not have enough staff to clean every room every day. We hope this changes someday.

Worst experience ever. During the height of the pandemic I purchased a travel zoo voucher for two nights which I gifted to my son for Christmas. My son followed the directions on the travel zoo voucher and scheduled a two night stay which was supposed to begin this evening. He received a confirmation number and put the stay three weeks in advance.
Upon check-in, he presented the voucher, and was told by the front desk clerk and manager on duty this evening that they would not honor the voucher. They stated that it was not valid for weekends, when the voucher clearly stated it was valid for any day of the week. The manager attempted to charge him for the full value of the room. My son called travel zoo, and the Travelzoo agent attempted to resolve the issue with the manager, but the manager refused to accept the voucher.
The hotel acknowledged that they have rooms available tonight, but wanted to charge the full published rate for the room. They refused to honor the voucher or the confirmation number provided. They stated that the next available date to redeem the travel zoo voucher was the middle of July. The voucher expires July 1. Rendering it useless.
Note to the management: if you have no intention of honoring your contractual obligations, don’t participate in the Travelzoo program.
Note to fellow travelers: Don’t assume that they will honor your reservation because you have a confirmation number. You may arrive and be told that your room rate is substantially higher than what is reflected in your confirmation.

Hello Karen, I am so sorry to hear your experience did meet your expectations relative to the terms and conditions of the Travelzoo voucher. I will do my best to clarify what took place in your son's case. Some key verbiage on your voucher states the following, "Reservations are subject to availability and early booking is highly encouraged". The hotel, at its discretion, can "blackout" certain dates when we expect to be at very high occupancy levels, such as the date of your son's stay. When he clicked on the link provided on the voucher to book his stay, he saw the following message, "The special offer or rate you have requested is unavailable during the dates of your stay or is not offered at this property. We've returned a list of available rates below." At which point, he was given the option to book the room at the hotel's best available rate, which he proceeded to do, hence the confirmation email. If you were to refer to it again, you would not find any reference to Travelzoo or the Travelzoo promotional rate code or rate. It would have been readily apparent that he did not receive the Travelzoo promotional rate. I do hope you now see all the hotel did was honor the reservation that was made. We enjoy a very high favorability rating on Travelzoo and love welcoming their loyal followers to Hyatt Westlake, so we do hope you will try us again.

The hotel was a delight. Clean, great staff and convenient to a diversity of near by restaurants. If you're activities are at the hotel, you don't need a car to have great food choices. The hotel offers breakfast and dinner, but is closed for lunches. No worries. There is a NY deli right across the parking lot and numerous others within 3-4 blocks. The hotel wifi was great and consistent. I was impressed with the little things the cleaning staff did to ensure health and safety for guests. The only downside is getting back and forth to the airports. If you don't have a car, it's expensive due to the distance. Taxis ran about the same as quoted prices for Uber and Lyft but were more readily available.

Dear STI, Thank you for staying with us and for taking the time to share your positive experience! I am so happy to hear you found our location just off the 101 freeway and steps away from over thirty unique dining and shopping destinations so convenient. As the only GBAC Star certified hotel in Ventura County in recognition of our enhanced cleaning and safety protocols, we take the health of our guests very seriously so I am thrilled you took note of our efforts. It will take someone 45-90 minutes to arrive at our doorstep from LAX but our repeat guests believe it's worth the effort to experience our very "Un-LA" destination and breathe in the fresh air of the Conejo Valley. Most importantly, I am so pleased to hear you found our staff to be warm and accommodating as this is at the heart of Hyatt's brand promise to our guests. We hope to see you the next time your travels bring you to the scenic Conejo Valley and beautiful Westlake.

Attention business travelers, if your company doesn’t allow erroneous un-allowable expenses on your hotel bill do not stay here! I had a charge that was not supposed to be on my bill added to it and they could not send me a revised copy, they kept saying they sent it but never would. Poor attitude and customer service towards non convention guests. As a side note all of the balcony rooms they advertise at the moment have parking lot views and nothing else. All the nice views are under construction

Dear Ticket for Adventure, Thank you for taking a few minutes to speak with me this evening, and I am pleased we were able to rectify your folio. Business travelers are the lifeblood of this hotel, and we take these matters very seriously. We understand how important it is to have an accurate and timely folio to submit for reimbursement, without incurring any personal charges that were erroneous. As I mentioned on our call, all of our balcony rooms are renovated and back in our inventory, but I do apologize there was not one available to you due to occupancy. The only rooms still to be renovated are on our 2nd and 1st floors, and they should be completed by the end of February. I have emailed you my personal contact information, and look forward to personally ensuring you have an exceptional stay with us, the next time your business brings you to Westlake Village. - David W. Dear Abigail, thank you very much for your question. I am happy to say we do not share Kate's pessimism. So far the renovation is right on track (a bit ahead of schedule, actually) and we fully expect to be done no later than mid-February. We are doing our guest room renovation floor-by-floor, so in the eventuality the remodel does take a little longer, you would not even notice the work being done. We do hope you'll come see all that's new in early 2020, including a massive WiFi upgrade, new 65" 4K TVs, luxury vinyl flooring in guestrooms, and entirely new bathrooms with stand-in showers, all new fixtures, and new vanity.
yes early check in I did not have to pay for early check in can't say about late check out
Guests are welcome to have two dogs stay in their guest room, provided that the combined weight of dogs does not exceed 75 pounds. A fee of $100 will be charged to have a dog(s) in the guest room for the duration of your stay for 7 days or less.
Good Day Brian, please call the property and one of our awesome team members will take care of you!
Dear Foxy Mama, A balcony room has just that...a balcony. The view rooms do not, but have a great view of either our lawn or the Santa Monica mountains. The two are not mutually exclusive; however, with many balcony rooms having great views, as well. Our breakfast buffet is $18/per person (gratuity not included), and children under 12 years of age eat free. We hope to see you on another trip to the Conejo Valley!
