It's one story hotel built in 1957, being renovated room by room. Comfortable, clean. When my husband complemented the roses to the guy at the desk, he came out at 9 pm and gave us a tour of maybe 70 rose bushes and some bottlebrush in bloom. I can see this hotel getting better and better oher time; they have...

We've stayed twice at the Blue Gum on our way down to the Bay Area from Oregon... Willows is the perfect stopover along the route that allows us to avoid driving in the dark and the Sonoma-Napa area traffic at peak time. The motel is on Hwy 99, so travelers are able to get off the crazy I-5 several miles...

The Blue Gum is a small family-owned place. I've stayed there several times during the winter for its proximity to the Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge. It's clean, the heat works, the bed is comfortable, and it's quiet since it's away from the freeway. The manager is friendly and helpful. There's no bathtub, just a shower. It's a good value if...

The room is very clean. The room is very old. Wi-Fi is very limited. Local TV channels only. I have no complaints because this is a very quick trip. You definitely are staying in a $50 room. There's nothing wrong with the room it's just not luxury.

Across from a beautiful stand of blue gum trees, on a deserted road, we found the Blue Gum a quiet and peaceful stay on a long drive up the Interstate 5. The pool is no longer functioning, and it was built in the ugly brick hotel style of the 60s, but for the price it was perfect. No freeway noise,...

This was easy to book. Had a nice photo. But.....This room did not have hot water. No soap was provided. The bed was broken. And TV went out after awhile. Do not stay here. What a dump. Nothing more to say.

If you just need a stopover, the Blue Gum will suit you just fine. The woman that checked us in was very pleasant and accommodating. We didn't get to the motel until 2 am. She was there to help us within a couple minutes. Everything was impeccably clean, except we would suggest they tear out the old carpets and install...

Quiet, clean and affordable. Great place for birders on a budget. The Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge is only about 15 min away from the hotel. Front desk is helpful with maps and suggestions for places to eat in Willows.

What a great place! Popular in the 1950s and still popular today. Our neice learned to swim in that pool 50+ years ago. The owner, Pratima, has everything in Pristine condition from the paint on the walls, fresh linens, weel manicured grounds and always a B-I-G Smile. We encourage our friends and family to spend the night here whenever in...

We love privately owned small motels and a lot of times they are hidden gems. Not this time. Price was right but that was about it. They say kitchenette but there were no utinsels etc. Went to borrow or get some from front desk and they only wanted to part with 2 paper plates and we needed 4. The kitchenette...

“This is a great place for those who want quaint, clean, and peace-filled. There were many small birds and hummingbirds to observe around the pool area. This hotel is far enough from the freeway for quiet, yet close enough for easy on/off access-about 5 minutes away.”

“Just ask for the right amount of beds to get the right room. All rooms look fine and the pool is only a few steps away. -you can buy drinks, water and chocolate bars at the check-in Be prepared to drive to willows for dinner - no restaurant.”
