The room is great, amenities are wonderful and clean, and price is perfect, but it is NOT ski-in ski-out. You have to take your skis off and cross the street, ruining your ski boots. We went as a couple, and loved it, and it seems families were happy here as well.
For the rate per night I was expecting this lodge to be amazing, we were underwhelmed. (We did not pay rack rate, stayed under the tour rate, they pitched us fractional ownership. Please do your homework on this and dont be sucked into buying before you have time to really think it over). They don't even have a coffee shop on premise. The rooms were good and comfy. Be sure to check your coffee pot before use. Ours needed to be sanitized. The concierge service was less than friendly and it felt like she had better things to do than help us find our way. We won't be back.
Very nice location (ski in/out). Excellent shuttle service to/from town, and an easy walk to town if you so desire (it is uphill the entire way back, though, so take the shuttle home). Plan in advance to be ready for the altitude adjustment needed. Be prepared on the ski in that you WILL have to walk/skate/pole yourself in sections. When looking at the directions, make this change: take 4 O Clock to Crosscut (a blue run). Crosscut will come down a steepish hill toward the C Chair. Bomb that hill and keep all the speed you can onto Sawmill in the hopes that you'll make it to Snowflake. DON'T turn at the sign for the Snowflake lift...go past that to the actual Snowflake trail. Even if you make it to there without stopping, you WILL stop eventually (maybe two more times before getting home). Still, I'd rather ski back than call for the shuttle.…
Great place, location, but loud, late public intoxication at pool interfered with sleep. Felt like a college frat. Staff unable to control, but called police. Next night 2 people overdosed at pool and paramedic had to give narcan and take to hospital
Loved Grand Timber Lodge! Our family had a great time and accommodations were excellent! There were tons of things to do at the lodge, plus free shuttles took us to the ski lifts and downtown. Except for some altitude sickness, we all had a wonderful trip.
We absolutely loved our stay at Grand Timber. The staff was very helpful, loved the texting option if we needed anything. The ski in and out was wonderful for us and there were plenty of things to do on site for kids when we took a day off of skiing. The staff also provided us robes and an extra humidifier when needed. Our only issue was with our thermostat -- it kept getting super hot in our room and even when we turned it off completely after several hours we returned to the room at it was 78. We were able to open the door and get the room cooled off fairly quickly. We also called and they did send someone up but the problem continued -- but luckily it was easily fixable with a window cracked.
This lodge is very close to town and main street. You can ski in and out and has good amenities like pool and hot tubs. They offered a shuttle service to town too. They have a movie theater, spa and restaurant in site.
This location is great. You can walk to the lifts and they provide a shuttle service so you never have to take your car out of their coverage garage. The hot tubs are amazing--two of them with different temperatures and you can ask the front desk for a robe to use. The wifi here was really terrible for us. Granted we were only in our room for the evenings, it was frustrating basically losing service while at a resort style lodge. The walls/ceilings can be thin here. The people above us put their ski boots on and proceeded to stomp around their room for a good 30 minutes. I went up to ask them if they could stop and they told me the people above them did the same thing to them the previous morning. It was a strange interaction and I asked if they could just put their boots on as they were heading out the next morning. I suggest you just call the front desk if another guest is being really loud because the staff will call the other room and inform them that the staff has been getting noise complaints. I would definitely stay here again, and totally recommend it.…
Great location close to lifts and to restaurants on main street. The shuttle is very convenient, we utilized it to get to and from both the lifts and to dinner every night. The outdoor hot tubs and indoor/outdoor pool are great, especially after a long day of skiing!
I won’t comment too much on the lodge/facilities much. The place shows its age, but it is just fine for a non-luxury, practical ski trip. And they have pools, activity room, etc, so there are amenities you can be ok with and they are all clean. The issue with this place is customer service. The staff is unhappy- did not see a single smile. Not sure what the root causes are (that’s for the management to think about), but the front desk is looking to do the bare minimum to get by. Their default response or attitude is can’t and no. They are not willing to help or make things easier for their guests. (I was literally said to google it when I asked for the name and address of a place). Putting all those aside, the main reason why I would not be able to ever stay in this place is the staff lacks education (and willingness to help) in a medical situation. My husband had a situation where he needed access to a first aid kit. Multiple people I tried to talk to all said different things as I kept pushing - started with “we don’t have one”, then “we are not supposed to give first aid to guests”, and lastly “here is gauze but it is from our employee first aid kit” (when I quoted OSHR requirements by law). Dismissive approach, lack of empathy, unwillingness to help… there are SO many options/alternatives in Breckenridge. There is absolutely not a single reason to stay here.…
