We stayed here only one night in a deluxe studio. First the positives . It is a very attractive property which is well kept up. Our studio was well appointed. The furniture was nice and all was well maintained and very clean. We had a full kitchen which we did not use. No where did it say that we would have to sleep on a Murphy bed . Trust me it was not comfortable. I would not attempt to do anything but try and sleep on it since it had so little support. There is no a/c. We were lucky it was 47 outside. We needed the windows open and the fan on and heat off to keep it comfortable. I cannot imagine staying here in the summer. The “ heated “ pool was nice except it was cold. Other places we visited on this trip covered their pools at night to keep them warm. Plus we were here in fall and at $257.00 per night it was no bargain even though Breckinridge is a nice town and worth seeing.…
Appreciate that one of the four units that we rented was on one level with a patio and a gas grill. Units were beautiful, clean and well outfitted. 3 units had the living and sleeping areas up a flight of about 20 stairs. A bit tough for the 80 year old. Recommend without reservation.
The location is great, the rooms are nice, and the pool is a lot of fun. We had one issue during our stay where some painters came into our room while we were gone and then left the door open and went to lunch. So, we came back to our room with our door wide open and no one anywhere nearby. Luckily all of our belongings were still there (there was no safe in our room), but our kids were spooked enough not to want to leave again for a while. The front desk apologized, but never clearly explained why it happened or how they could make sure that it did not happen again.
The whole family enjoyed our four day stay at Mountain Thunder Lodge over the 4th of July weekend. Great location. Clean lodgings. Great service. Great shuttle service. Close to downtown and the gondola. The only thing that would make it even better would be to offer air conditioning during the summer months. Will definitely stay here again!
My family and I recently stayed at Mountain Thunder Lodge which is perfectly located in Breckenridge. No need for a car as you can either walk most every where especially to Main Street or take one of the free bus shuttles to area locations. Very short walk to the Gondola and shuttle stops as well as to the local market. I would highly recommend staying at Mountain Thunder Lodge.
