Stayed in February. Great location. You can smoke on the balcony as long as your neighbors dont complain. Walking distance to Main street or free shuttle (they work on tips). Would definitely return but we are probably going to Aspen next year.
We stayed in a 2 bedroom condo in the main building for 5 nights and had a very good experience, except for the quality of the beds, including the pull-out couch bed. We mentioned this to the front desk and they credited us a night's...More
This is the perfect place to stay, if you have a couple of dollars to spend. Definitely not a place to count your pennies. The view is spectacular, the rooms are clean and the staff is very friendly. It has the drive up service for...More
Due to flight problems, my trip was shifted by two days at the last minute. The staff worked diligently with me to ensure that we were able to extend our stay and did so in a friendly and efficient manner. We arrived at 2:00 a.m....More

This is Bill--not Ann. Somehow trip advisor got my wife's email address. Probably my mistake. On to your question. I had never stayed at a lodge before my recent trip to Colorado. We did not rent a car, and I am glad about that. The weather would have challenged my driving abilities. The lodges have free shuttles to get you just about anywhere you want to go, and the intervals between buses stopping at your lodge are usually around 20 minutes. We experienced very little wait in getting our shuttle from the airport to our lodge. Just make sure you know where to go in the airport to get check in to the shuttle service. We inadvertently went right outside and then discovered that we had to check in at a counter inside the airport. Setting things up ahead of time is a good idea. Colorado Mountain Express, Peak 1, and Peak 2 are reliable and responsible. Others are, too, I'm sure.
