Ski location is excellent. Condo has the free bus gray line stop directly at the front door. This bus is 1 stop from the Breck transit center where buses to other cities may be found. It is also the stop for the gondola to peak 8. Across the street from the condo is the end of the 4 o'clock ski run. Truly ski out. This is also the bus stop for the free bus gray line to snowflake lift, beaver run lift and the village which is the bus stop for peak 9. Very easy. Walking out the back door of the condo takes you directly to the main area shopping and restaurants. You do not need a car. This is a condo and all units are unique. We did pay the premium to get the deluxe room which we were told means updated. Our room was modern and well kept. The queen size muphy bed was small and narrow. Much like a full size bed. The bed was small so be sure this meets your needs. There are a few small hot tubs. One of the 2 hot tubs in the fitness center was broken. There is a hot tub outside near the swimming pool. There was not enough hot tub space for the number of winter skiers. People struggled to get a spot. Most times the hot tubs were full. People were turned away. There is a required ski valet check point at the front desk. No ski equipment in the rooms. There is a city market grocery store nearby. We walked to the store (15 minutes). Then took the free trolley 1 stop to the Breckenridge transit center where we transferred to the free bus gray line. 1 stop to the condo. I would stay here again. …
Best location in Breckenridge!! Close to downtown shopping/restaurants and short walk to gondolas! The studio room 103 overlooked the river. The room was clean, but bathroom needs a little updating with paint chipping. The kitchen was well stocked and we loved the cozy mountain decor. All hottubs water levels were low for winter hottubbng. Will definitely return!
We spent President’s Day weekend here after booking on the Breckinridge site with a package. Location was great. Room was nice, though bed was a bit firm for me personally. Staff were all very helpful. It’s a bit of a dated property but it was clean and the room had all the amenities.
I am glad we didn't skip this property based on the recent bad reviews below, that seemed to be one-off individual circumstances. The $50 resort fee is a standard charge to any property rental. We booked through Breckenridge.com. Check-in and parking were very comfortable. The lobby always had morning coffee and treats and après-ski hot cocoa and popcorn, which the guests enjoyed. Everything we did in Breck was within walking distance, the walkability and ski-in could not be better, we walked two blocks to the gondola, breakfast, dinner, and a large Christy Sports next door. We selected the 700 s.f. studio condo hoping the kids would enjoy the loft. It felt so much bigger and private with the internal staircase. All three beds were very comfortable. The unit was clean and stocked with any amenity that we looked for. The pillows and lines were new. We used the hottub and the in-unit clothes washer/dryer. Our unit was the east wing and facing the courtyard. There were many employees visible and working on every level which felt secure and accommodating. All of the quests appeared mature, quiet, and respectful. I would be interested to own the condo that we rented based on the weekend that we experienced!…
Don’t stay here. Booking through a third party charges a resort fee. The front desk will lie and say they don’t. And then charge you another resort fee on top of the resort fee the booking company charges. Not to mention, my prices started at $104 and ended at $175 for all of the hidden fees. The room was tiny and definitely not worth the $175. The front desk people are rude and not helpful at all. I’ll never stay here again. I had to hang up on him because he wouldn’t listen to me.
WARNING: Never book a room at this property!!! If you do, you should be prepared that this company lack decency and human compassion when cancelling a reservation and you will lose all your money. My father was hospitalized and we had to cancel our trip unexpectedly. Global Groups Vail Resort was absolutely AWFUL. When we called to cancel they directed us to write an email as the hotel they couldn’t process it over the phone?? We followed procedure and sent the email to which they told us it was <48 hours. What part of hospitalization sounds like I had a chance to plan that! Their emails are robotic and procedural offering us no comfort or assistance during this emotional time. Speaking to them on the phone is even worse. Brent L and Liz are soulless human beings who offer no compassion or support even though their job title is literally to support customers. They “stand by their company policy” and offered us a 60 day extension to use our reservation at this specific resort. WHO THINKS THIS IS REASONABLE?! Did you not understand the part where I said my father is hospitalized and we don’t know what the future holds?! Why would I be taking a leisure ski trip to Breckenridge at a time like this! Honestly, I wish companies had a soul and actually cared about the people who they service. Is it that financially disruptive for them to offer a refund for these extenuating circumstances? I will NEVER give my money to this company. They need to take a page out of Marriot and Hilton and read a few Harvard Business Reviews on the importance of customer service.…
The resort fee here is $45 per night. They have a gym, that's all. The hotel accomodations are average, at best. Bedroom and bat are small. Nice lobby. Great location. Walk to everything. Very nice staff. Can barbecue in thier courtyard.
We happened upon this hotel while resupplying in Breckinridge during a thru-hike of the Colorado Trail. It felt like we landed in hiker heaven. You can walk everywhere on paved pedestrian paths including great restaurants and a good grocery store. Breckinridge is a fun town no matter the season. Our room faced a little river and it was so relaxing listening to the sound of water with the windows open. The staff treated us kindly even though we probably aren’t the typical guests. The entire place is well maintained and super clean! I would definitely stay here again!
I stayed at the River Mountain Lodge for two nights in connection with a business trip to Breckenridge. I booked a one-bedroom unit. I expected everything to be on one level, but the bedroom and one bathroom were up an internal staircase. The downstairs was fine. The upstairs - that's another matter. The bedroom was large but largely unfurnished except for the bed, some night tables and a dresser. There was only one chair in the room (see photo). It appeared to be a chair that was pulled out of a meeting room elsewhere in the Lodge, not something that was designed for a bedroom. There were no windows in the bedroom. There was just a skylight built into the sloping ceiling, but it did not open. The sun could beat in during the daytime, but there was nothing to open to cool the room down. There was a ceiling fan that could move the warm air around but not cool the room down. It was stuffy and hard to get comfortable at night. Also, one side of the bed was under the sloping ceiling. I'm 6'3", so if I got out of the bed on that side I would hit my head on the ceiling. I slept on the other side of the bed. The downstairs living/dining/kitchen area was nice. It had windows and also a small balcony, although the view was into a courtyard that could get noisy at times. The kitchen was fine. There was also a bathroom in that lower level. Internet hookup was quick and the connection was fast, so I was able to work efficiently at the dining table. It appeared that the large sofa in the room was a sleeper sofa, but it would have been hard to extend it because there was a lot of heavy furniture in the way that I would have had to move, and the foot of the sleeper would have come very close to the fireplace in the room. Check-in and check-out were handled well. The Lodge has an underground garage that was fairly easy to navigate and use. The location of the Lodge is excellent, within easy walking distance of the commercial district and several other condo complexes. The Lodge advertised that it had a fitness center. I was planning to make a workout part of my mornings, but for some reason the fitness center didn't open until 9 am, when I was already into the work day. I'm not sure why it opened so late. The up-and-down one bedroom in the Lodge would probably be a better place to stay during cold weather. It's not built for summer. The conference room chair in the bedroom was bizarre.…
We had a very nice stay at River Mountain Lodge, May6-11, 2022. There were three of us, myself, spouse and younger son. The property is very clean and comfortable with a super location. The amenities in the unit were very good. The staff was great and we had no major issues. All the lights, appliances, etc. were working fine. There are both indoor and outdoor hot tubes and an outdoor pool. The underground parking is very convenient.
