The family-run posada is perfect for families. Our room was more than spacious, had a kitchen and was spotlessly clean.
There is a beautiful garden all around, through which you can take a guided tour by the owner if you wish.
The breakfast is typical of the region and also completely OK.
It takes about 15 minutes to drive to Rio Celeste, and restaurants can be reached in a similar amount of time. There is a small mini-market diagonally opposite if you want to buy drinks or something similar.

Simple, unaffected, and charming. It's not glamorous, but certainly authentic. The cheapest deal will give you a very rustic room, spotless, with a gloriously comfortable bed and excellent shower facilities. Very good food - and Socorro was very flexible about preparing something vegetarian. It's not easy to find, and the road is difficult, but once there you can leave your car behind and walk to the Tenorio National Park in one direction or the wonderful Rio Celeste in the other. It appears that the family took it upon themselves to repair and improve the beautiful (but somewhat challenging) path down to the river swimming hole - so your $6 entrance fee is well spent and goes directly to the workers. Don't miss it! The family will give you good advice about your excursions.

We stopped by this inn for a lunch after our Rio Celeste hike. A couple of long picnic tables outside the main reception area. We had delicIous home style food that was served family style. Typical Costa Rican food, but what set this apart was the fact that it was prepared using fresh and flavorful ingredients, including those sourced from their farm. No microwaves here! The meal also had a fruit-based dessert at the end. They have a large jar of home-made crisp, spicy pickles that were delectable. As a self confessed food snob, this was one of my favorite meals during our stay. After our meal, the owner showed us around the farm and inn facilities. They are currently expanding their accomodation to include simple yet nice cabins. This could be a good, affordable option for folks wanting to be near the waterfalls (~1 km). We smelled and tasted various herbs, fruits, saw a variety of birds (including the resident parrots) and took a shot at a huge swing hanging from a tall tree. Owner did not speak english, but one could see the sense of pride and love he has for this place.

The hotel/B&B is relatively easy to find. I'd say it's a 10-15min drive to the Rio Celeste National Park.
The hotel is quite sweet and the hosts are pretty friendly and welcoming.
The room is ok, it's clean, cute and pretty minimal in it's decor. The only negative for me is the lack of air conditioning. It ended up not being really much of an issue as i got a good nights sleep. But i think i would have felt more comfortable with a bit of A/C.
On a separate note, the phone reception round there isn't the best. I couldn't pick up Claro Mobile anywhere around there. The B&B has wifi, but it's only really workable in their restaurant area. If you're desperate, take a short walk further into the village. As you get to the main crossroads, perhaps 5metres from it. There's a signpost/possibly a bus stop. On the sign gives you the details to sign into some free wifi.
Apart from this, the breakfast was yummy. I do love Costa Rica's typical breakfast.
Would i stay there again, possible not. But don't let my opinion put you off. It's ok for a nights stay.

We only stayed one night at this property, which is pretty much a motel for me. But the owners’ hospitality made us welcomed and we seemed a part of family. The owner, Marvin cut fresh coconuts and a sweet lemon from the trees for us to taste while roaming at his well landscaped yard. All the plants have been labelled in Spanish. We ordered one plate of Salad to pair with our fruits, which we purchased at La Fortuna. I went their kitchen to ask utensils for cutting all the fruits in the evening and requested a cup of tea in the early morning. His wife was so kind and helpful. Both breakfast and salad were tasty and fresh. Cozy room was cleaning. Only 10 minutes’ drive to Rio Celeste. Overall, nice stay.

We had a fantastic stay with Marvin and his family, the rooms are very comfortable and spotlessly clean. His garden is fabulous and Marvin has such a passion for wildlife and took the time to show us the different birds. The breakfast is delicious and we also had dinner which was the best meal we have had in Costa Rica. The entrance to the park is quite near, although the road is a bit dodgy in places (however we managed in a normal car!) . We would definitely recommend staying here if you visit Rio celeste

The family owned and operated Posada has everything you could wish for. Spotless and roomy cabinas. A great garden (ask the owner for a tour!) fantastic food and fast access to the Tenorio National Park and Rio Celeste.

We (family of four with young children) stayed for one night and had a great time. We even participated in a little 'experiment' with a special berry that grows in the garden. It makes everything taste sweet! Even a very acidic lemon. A great experience :)

Have fun at Rio Celeste Posada rural!

A beautiful and astounding place for lunch after or before a trip to the National park. The salad was one of the best I have ever had. The main dishes were yummy, fresh and plentiful. The service was excellent-- all the food is organic and beautiful Don't miss this spot. And while you re there, befriend the two gorgeous free parrots

Posada Rural is a cheap and super cosy area 20min by car from Rio Celeste. The rooms are very spacious, clean and tidy. The place is in the middle of nowhere, in between a 'mainroad' of a 'village' and a lot of forest, jungle and typical CR nature, so very quiet and perfect for having a peaceful night. The owners serve dinner and breakfast (dinner was average price, but great taste).
If you're just speaking english it might get a bit difficult to communicate, but we all had hands and feet so we came along very well. The owner had great advices for the Rio Celeste and were very friendly!!
During that time we went there we unfortunately had a very tight schedule, so we'd only stayed one night. If we'd had more time we'd definitely stayed some longer.

This hotel looked like a really basic, rural place, and no even basic english available.

But all the reviews sounded good, so we took a chance, with our 3 sons(3,8,and 12).
This place, was exactly what we needed. A clean family room for 50$, a big landcape for the kids to play. The comments about the food, are true: this is the best typical food we tried! It's sad that i don't speak well in spanish, because the owner, and is wife are nice peoples.

The campground is an incredible set-up, but was not available that week.
