Ok accommodation, the stove did not function, however it was replaced by a portable one. Room service only on Thursday. Rooms are clean and OK. Somewhat outdated, need a up to date renovation. Betts were comfortable..

This was a great place to stay! There for three nights. The room was immaculate. Mini stove, fridge, sink and dining table. Comply bed in one area and a private bedroom, too. Comply beds, clean sheets, plents of tissue, towels , etc..staff was very friendly. I will definitely recommend a stay. Great location, too!

This is a gem the owners take pride of this motel. The room was very clean they meet you at your room and offer to bring your luggage in. The staff is helpful. We even saw a momma deer with 3 baby fawns behind the motel. The sheets are decorative and the towels were green and soft and smelled clean. I would definitely stay there again. And the price is reasonable.

We are so glad we chose this motel for our 4-night stay in Colorado Springs! The other hotel we have stayed at previously is now closed, and I'm really glad it did because otherwise I wouldn't have found Mel-Haven! We saved so much money staying here, and on top of that they have the most comfortable beds I can ever remember staying in. I have arthritis, and I usually wake up well before my alarm and have to get out of bed because of all the aches and pains. Not here! My alarm woke me every morning, and I had less pain than I do at home!!! It was also incredibly clean! We did not have a do not disturb sign upon arriving, but they brought us one immediately after we called the front desk to ask about it. The service was wonderful, with the owner checking to see how we were more than once. I would definitely stay here again, even with the construction. The workers were very attentive, always making sure they knew which way we were going and signaling us when it was safe. Be aware - they do not have an ice machine. You can make two trays in the small refrigerator, but it takes a long time. There is a Safeway not far away, though, so it was not a problem to refill our cooler on our way out.

I was skeptical when we arrived.....but I was pleasantly surprised. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was very helpful and even offered to help us with our bags. We where close to Pikes Peak and a 5 minute drive from Garden if the Gods.

When we first pulled in I was a little iffy on whether or not I was going to like staying there. We stayed a total of 5 nights and by night 2 I couldn’t see a reason NOT to stay here. Our room was cleaned daily and always smelled so fresh. The bed was comfortable and we were very close to many attractions. We knew prior to our arrival that there was no pool or breakfast and that was fine with us. The money we saved by staying at Mel-Haven just allowed for us to enjoy more restaurants and activities. WiFi worked just fine. There is still construction in the area but once you get used to it, it is easy to navigate through. There is a small refrigerator and a microwave which was very handy. After our stay here, we’ve decided we would stay here again! Glad we gave it a chance.

Recently took a road trip all over Colorado. Right before we prepared to leave for this vacation we found out we needed to replace the roof on our house. Needless to say, that was a huge expense I wasn’t expecting, at that time. So, I decided to cut back on the costs associated with our accommodations for our 10-day Colorado vacation. (We are from Pennsylvania) This came up as an option and I read all the reviews, so I knew what to expect. I will say that this place is cleaner than the Best Western we stayed at in a different Colorado town…. So, two thumbs up from me! I’ve included photos from our visit, including the donkey planters! They are cute, wish they actually had nice flowers in them, just saying. If looking for a clean, spacious, affordable, place to stay and you have your expectations set accordingly then you will enjoy staying here. The bed was the second most comfortable out of all the places we stayed. That is saying a LOT because we stayed in a LOT of different places and they were also all at varying price points. The AC worked well. The location was great for the attractions in the area that we had planned on checking out. Yes, the gentleman uses a swiss army knife as his master key to gain access to the rooms. Yes, there really are donkey planters. Yes, the linens aren’t white like most expect to see when visiting this type of establishment. BUT, none of that matters. The only 2 things I would have liked to be different: 1. A different shower curtain. I wasn’t crazy about the one we had. It seemed as if it was never open long enough for it to not be bunched up. Did it work and do what a shower curtain is supposed to do, yes. So, it was not a deal breaker. 2. I would have LOVED a do not disturb sign. I really didn’t require people coming into our room as it was only a two-night stay. I would have preferred for us to have the option of letting the establishment know that we appreciate that the option for daily housekeeping exists, however, not everyone is looking for that. Some people prefer privacy. Would I stay here again, yes. Out of all the motel type places we stayed this was the best!

This place is older but well maintained. It is not fancy but the rooms are very clean and quite spacious. It is family owned and operated. They are very nice and go out of their way to be sure your stay is a good one.
