Nestled in a prime location, The Maven Hotel at Dairy Block garners positive attention for its unique, vibrant atmosphere and eclectic decor. While most guests commend the hotel for its cleanliness and the friendliness of the staff, some have raised concerns about housekeeping service and occasional service inconsistencies.
The rooms are generally celebrated for their spaciousness and design, though noise levels and cleanliness have been points of contention. Travelers enjoy the varied dining options and amenities like the courtesy cars, yet some feel that the hotel's value is diminished by high parking fees and additional charges.

Detailed Reviews
We reserved a room at the Maven for our daughters club VB tournament in March which ended up being cancelled due to the Corona Virus. We still decided to take the trip.
The folks at the Maven were more than accommodating - calling us to make sure we were aware of the tournament being cancelled and informing us that we would be reimbursed we well. We told them we were on our way there!
The front desk staff were WONDERFUL! Our accommodations were also WONDERFUL! Our daughters club coach told us about this hotel from last years tournament and gave it rave reviews, she was spot on. This hotel had a great vibe, a few small stores and a variety of delicious eateries. Every food option we tried we really enjoyed! The location was central to everything we needed and they offered a car service anywhere within a 2 mile radius. Everyone was so helpful and aimed to please. Valerie and Cassidy at the front desk were just amazing with their suggestions and their concern for us to have a great stay. Really terrific ladies that truly did make our stay perfect!!!
Can’t wait to go back someday, we just loved the hotel, the staff, the eateries and the dairy block area.

I know it sounds cheesy, but it's true, The Maven is my favorite hotel. It's like my second home. The gym is phenomenal, the beds are cloud-level divine, the staff is incredibly kind and thoughtful and each room has its own character. The location is impossible to beat for all things Denver and I the dynamic chill spaces throughout the Milk Market make for awesome work spaces, meeting locations or just chill out zones. There's always great music playing, there are tons of great restaurants and bars in the building that make for great hangout spots, the coffee shop is to die for, you get free happy hour tokens each day (to be enjoyed at the airstream next to check in. Yes, you read that correctly) and all of this doesn't even touch on the Milk Market - the fun, energetic space filled with tons of artisan purveyors including great bars, restaurants, flower shops, clothing vendors and so many more. All of this is before you even leave the building and walk across the incredible alley to the adjacent shops, galleries, barbers, speak easy, whiskey bar and so much more. In short, if you leave this hotel and its property during your stay, you had better have a really good reason! Take my word for it, don't stay anywhere else in Denver!

I’m posting this review during crazy times, Covid , so it may not pertain during regular times .
The hotel decor is really fun and thought out . Funky but comfortable and welcoming. The art work and aesthetics of the hotel is very pleasing and not stuffy . The bar area is a cool mix of South beach Miami meets the West.
Our room was very spacious and the beds were comfy . However ,The Maven failed to communicate with me the day or two before we arrived that there is “no “ room service or any dining in the hotel. I asked several front desk people about options and they were not very knowledgeable about places for pick up or outdoor dining . The staff seemed a bit inexperienced for a nice hotel .
We realize that these are crazy unpredictable times with Covid , where rules change daily . The hotel is thankfully located in a great area where there is a Whole Foods , awesome Door Dash breakfast places and cute outdoor eating places . Union station is a block away and the Capitol is about a mile walk.
If you are traveling to Denver during Covid , the Maven is very clean , masks are mandatory, hand sanitizer is everywhere, and the staff is vigilant about safety . We felt very safe here .
Download the Door Dash of Grub hub app though if you stay here .

Thank you so much for staying with us, tiredof4walls, and for taking the time to share your feedback! We are glad we were able to provide a fun and comfortable space for you during these difficult times and that you felt safe traveling with us amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. We are also excited to hear that you were able to visit Poka Lola during your stay, we love upbeat environment there also! I do want to apologize that our new limited housekeeping service was not explained to you upon check-in, and this will be addressed and used as a training moment for our front desk team. We are so excited to have several new front desk agents recently join our team of Mavens, and your feedback will help us as we continually strive to improve our customer service and guest experience. Rest assured, if you do find yourself back with us soon, we do have housekeeping services available upon request throughout your stay, we just ask that our guests not be present while our housekeeping team tidies up. Thank you so much again for your time and feedback, we truly do appreciate it, and we hope to welcome you back to the Maven again in the near future!

There are only a handful of larger hotels in the US that I have an opinion on, and The Maven is one of them.
I chose The Maven primarily due to it's proximity to an Enterprise car rental location (because I wanted to rent a car one day) and the Amtrak station (since I was taking the train home). If I had not been lazy when I arrived at DEN, I would have taken the rail from the airport to this same station as it's a really short walk to the hotel and the taxi ride will set you back $100.
The room was fantastic for me, I believe it was the Journeyman King. I was working from it several days and really liked the layout of my room with a bar-style desk behind the bed, effectively as the headboard. I had a corner room and a hanging swing chair was was unexpectedly comfortable. I opted into one add-on, a eucalyptus bouquet hanging in the shower, and this was well worth it - it was beautiful, and smelled amazing. I'm not a fan of pour over in my hotel room without a filter holder, though the coffee in the lobby and collaboration with the adjacent coffeeshop makes up for it for we coffee feigns. I loved my robe so much I bought it.
Overall, I was really happy with this break from the norm. It worked out great working from my room and popping down to The Dairy Block restaurants to pick up lunch, wandering around the city in the evening. Super smooth logistics for me, too, with the car and train needs. I would love to have a reason to return to Denver and stay here again!

The family and I loved everything about our two night stay at The Maven Hotel. The location is absolutely perfect for everything you want to access in LoDo, LoHi, and Highlands and you seriously have 100’s of options of places to dine and drink at if you’d like within walking distance. You also have easy access to walk to Riverfront Park, Union Station, and Coors Field.
It is really cool because the lobby is basically attached to the Milk Market Food Court, so you have in hotel access to restaurants, bars, coffee, ice cream, quick bites, etc. Rooms were small but nice and modern, and they took great care around the hotel to meet Covid protocols.
I thought the service was very friendly and they also had a guest Happy Hour Daily at 4pm.

Disappointed.
I tried reaching out to the Maven and their parent company directly, but after two weeks with no response I will leave my response here.
I arrived at the Maven just before 4pm and was told that my room wasn’t ready but that it would be “very soon”. I sat in the lobby for nearly 40 minutes while the room was not only cleaned, but also inspected.
After waiting those 40 minutes I have to say that the state of the room was very disappointing. Dust and debris along the walls and a horrifying stain on the white sheets (picture included) I noticed as I got ready to go to bed late in the evening. Thankfully housekeeping was available to have the sheets changed. Not sure how that was missed during what seemed to be a very extensive cleaning/inspection process. I was also very disappointed as several amenities I’d expect while staying in a “boutique” hotel were lacking.
Given the expense and multiple instances within the stay, the level of satisfaction with my visit to the Maven was not up to my expectation.
The location and lobby amenities are fantastic but I would recommend spending your money elsewhere.

The Maven was a big hit! It’s in a great location with plenty of easy walkable areas. It’s a unique property with very cool art and decor. The Dairy Block inside offers all sorts of food and bev options. Be sure to take advantage of the free cup of coffee from Huckleberry each morning and the free margarita/beer/wine from 4-7pm in the cute airstream inside the building each night. Included in your room rate is the house car, a big SUV, that takes you around Denver within a 2 mile radius. Jesse, from the valet, is extremely personable and goes above and beyond. He helped us immensely in our Denver city search for the perfect place to live. John is great too. Don’t forget to use the 15% off your purchase at almost all locations inside the dairy block. Great value for the price with the amenities included. Just don’t park your car b/c it’s $45/night. We will definitely stay here again next time we need a Denver hotel.

It's in a great location in downtown Denver close to Union Station where the light rail from airport arrives (and many other rail lines). Great running trail along river and lots of good restaurants walking distance. I loved the cool and funky vibe. Late night checkin staff was kind as we were frazzled after a delayed flight. We booked last minute so I'm not sure if our rate was typical, but we paid over $400 for the room. There were so many mandatory buried fees (Dairy Block Improvement Fee?) not quoted in the rate quote that I can't even list all of them. We paid just over $100 per room per night just in taxes and buried amenity fees not included in the room rate. The mattresses (both of them) were old and shaped like a halfpipe. For the price, we deserve better. The breakfast area was out of at least half of the items listed on the menu and the line was over 30 minutes long (not really the hotel's fault as I think it's a separate business) but still frustrating.

If you don't have a wheelchair, stay here, it's amazing! If you have a wheelchair and book an accessible room, make sure to specify you need a roll-in shower. My "accessible " room had a tub and a front door so heavy I had to have my friends let me in and out.

I stay at the Maven almost every time I visit Denver, which is twice a year. For me, being downtown is the best location, because it's easy to walk around, there are tons of good restaurants, shops, and the contemporary art museum. The stadium is a few blocks away. I take the train from the airport, which costs $5 for seniors (which I am) but this summer is FREE as well as all buses, during July and August. The train is reliable and comfortable, and goes from the airport to Union Station, a half hour ride, and then a three minute walk to the Maven. Traffic in Denver can be heavy, so if you have time definitely take the train.
The hotel is in the Dairy Block which has various restaurants and bars. It's a hopping place during Happy Hour, and they give you a token for a free beer or soda. Lots of young people. There is also a large fitness center that guests have 24 hour access to. The design of the hotel and rooms is very arty, maybe not for everyone, so check the photos before you reserve. The rooms vary somewhat. If I had one complaint it's that sometimes the lighting is more designy than practical. The rooms are quiet and comfortable, nice bedding.
The staff is wonderfully helpful. This time I want to give a shout out to Vincent, who was especially generous and thoughtful.
Try to reserve as far in advance as you can, because the rates go up, especially if there's an event in town.

The Hotel CAR is a chauffeur service provided to the hotel guests for free for pickup and drop off to local attraction within 2 miles. You just have to coordinate at the front desk.
If you rent a car and bring - yes there is a parking fee, which is pricy.
We found things to do within walking distances and we also used the chauffeur service, which was GREAT!
For the bathtub - hotel will be able to provide more information.
Ours was a mother / daughter trip and every second was worthwhile we enjoyed our stay. Staff is very courteous and helpful and location is great!!!
Congratulations on your wedding and have a wonderful stay!!
You don't have to use a key to operate the elevator. There are 2 cars and it seemed that we hardly ever had to wait.
WiFi was free but they said some rooms have issues because of the concrete wall. We didn’t have any problems
Be sure to request in advance! They gave us an extra 2 hours which was nice. They promptly deactivate cards at the normal check out time so heads up!
