The structure is cool. The people (employees) are great. Location is great (love FairPlay). Keep in mind the place is old, but very cool. You will hear people talking in their rooms around you but still a great experience, great free breakfast. Great location right in town. Make sure you take some Advil because you are right at about 10,000...

We loved our four-night stay at this hotel. Management and staff were all friendly and helpful. Each room is decorated with a different early 1900s theme and our room boasted a very comfortable bed and a new shower; all designed with water conservation in mind. A deluxe breakfast spread was provided and was very good with a wide variety of...

It was like stepping back into the early 1900, their room rates are very reasonable. And the staff was wonderful ! The hotel is small, so it is not crowded. Now the room and bathroom where small but very fuctional. I would diffently stay there again.

Very customer friendly. Rooms with no TV or any electronics. There is no A/C but there is a ceiling fan and we were quite comfortable. We stayed in the China Mary room that was furnished in a somewhat oriental style. The wallpaper and paint are peeling but the bathroom and shower, although small, were fine and clean. The carpets on...

We were delighted at every turn - from friendly welcome, good prices, clean room and bathroom and tasty breakfast next day. This takes you back in time in a very historic and interesting B&B (formerly a hotel and feels like a hotel of yesteryear) Would go back again. Views on back upper deck very nice and good spot to have...

If you usually book the generic type hotel where all the rooms look the same, then this is a great alternative. The Hand Hotel was built in the early 1930's, but in the style of the old main street of Fairplay circa 1880's. Each room is unique, and styled in Western motif yet the bathrooms and showers have all been...

This is a quirky place, completely different from chain hotels. The other reviews capture the flavor of the establishment. The people who run this hotel are wonderful to guests. A truly delightful place to stay.

This is a very charming B&B. Each room has a different theme with antiques that go with the theme. They're all so comfy and cute. There is a great restaurant a couple of buildings away. The breakfast was ample and very good. This is an excellent choice for comfort, charm and value.

Very pleasant with tons of one of a kind character. The old time lobby is cozy and inviting with a warm fire and good company and its rooms are full or charm and character. Floors creak a little and each room is appointed with individual charm and antiquities, the bathrooms are fully modern and spotless and the breakfast served is...

Traveled into (Fairplay) Colorado from Santa Fe and got in later than expected. The staff was accommodating (allowed us to put our bikes inside) and left us our key after hours. We had to get up early and check out but our morning activity was canceled and we went back to the hotel and they served us breakfast and even...
