Betwixt & between, I have spent the past few weeks at the hostel, which is a comfortable mix of travelers and guests who are staying for a while. The former are the kind of aware and adventurous travelers who prefer the hostel style of accommodation. The latter are almost all working and/or studying in the Glenwood area. With the exploding... This is a decent somewhat below average hostel that is by far the lowest cost place to stay in this part of Colorado. In summer your best choice is to camp but in winter this is a reasonable low budget choice. There are a number of local derelict types who seem to be long-term lodgers here but people are generally... More

I think maybe the American outbreak of Ebola started here. The place is DIRTY!!! I payed for 3 nights at the end of June. I only stayed two nights. My sheet on the bed had tear in it. When I removed the sheet the 4 inch foam mattress was stained with either feces or blood. There is was too much... More

I stayed here a few weeks in Fall 2011. My more recent stay under new ownership (October 2014). Impressed with business plan. Confused by negative reviews on this website (higher-ranked google search websites have mostly positive reviews.) Most of the negative reviews of this site are of complaints not pertinent to actual hostel. They were written by people that can... More

We had paid for three. Jeanie was very fair in refunding us. Besides the dirtiness, there was a core group of flophouse types and there was smoking permitted in all the outdoor areas, so nowhere for a nonsmoker to enjoy(the smoke smell was in the living room furniture also). We had a private upstairs room in the main jouse with... More

Nice hostel in a great location in a friendly, laid-back mountain town. It had a great, cozy atmosphere, big kitchen and a funky record collection to browse. The staff was really friendly and made me feel comfortable. Even though the dorm I was in slept around 15, I had a quiet and restful night. Definitely the grooviest hostel I've stayed... More

I stayed in this hostel with my boyfriend in July 2012. We just got home, actually, and I feel the desperate need to shower. He's stayed in hostels all-over Latin America with great experiences, so taking a weekend trip from Denver to Glenwood Springs, it seemed like an affordable option. Hostels are to be upkept as well as a hotel;... More

Firstly the place was like no other hostel I have stayed in, and not for the right reasons. I wanted to like the place because the people were nice and friendly but the overall experience was horrible. The mens dorm had about 18 beds in which is quite alot. The beds were old and it seemed like the place was... More

I have stayed at this hostel in the past but on my recent stay ( January 2012) I found that this hostel has really gone downhill. I stayed in a private room for $25. The owner said they were going to raise the rate to $30 next week. I'm not sure that it was worth that price. I was charged... More
