Nice independent hotel, log cabin feeling with the decorations. Quiet and comfortable room. Great view out the front of the lake. The only downside is the quality and variety of the continental breakfast. I would think the staff would set up a higher quality breakfast to match the accommodations. A caution to those using a GPS to locate the hotel,...

Thank you for your review; I am glad that the staff was helpful to you; Yes the GPS here is at the least a little sketchy. I am sorry to hear that you did not like the breakfast.

Must stop if you intend on driving the Trail Ridge Road. Resort was great. Room was big with great amenities. Try to get a room with a view of the lake. Breakfast was pretty good .... but needs a little better set-up.

Grand Lake is a resort community and near a National Park entrance, so hotels can command higher prices. We booked a queen room and were given a very spacious room that included a huge bunk bed in addition to the queen bed. We were given a parking lot view room without a balcony, so I imagine the view rooms are...

Thank you for your review; I am sorry about the shelf on the tub; We do have seasonal rates as most in Grand Lake do; You might want to give us a try again in the fall or winter and get in on some winter sports.

This property is the closest to the Grand Lake entrance of RMNP, but still close to town. The rooms, and grounds are clean. The free breakfast is good, and the bar offers a decent happy hour (the free popcorn is a fun twist) with a large, comfortable balcony the offers a beautiful view of Grand Lake and surrounding scenery. Our...

No view of lake and too expensive compared to the price and local area view and loud noise. receptionist is not polite. I reserved the lake viewing room, but the room I checked could not see the lake at all.

I am so sorry that you did not enjoy your stay with us; We actually are not stating that you can see the lake from the balcony rooms as it depends on the foliage at the time but the balcony views all have a great view of Mt Baldy; We are also sad to hear that you were not treated...

Gateway Inn is a nice place to stay -- the staff went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. The style is country modern with lots of touches appropriate to a mountain town. We will stay again when we visit Grand Lake.

We stayed overnight in Grand Lake at the Gateway Inn after we finished visiting Rocky Mountain National Park. The room was clean, spacious, with a cute western decor. The beds were very comfy. We were pleasantly surprised to find that breakfast was included, since it was not mentioned on the website or in the reservation confirmation. Very reasonably priced happy...

Great Location and enjoyed all the "lodge" decor! Room Spacious. Enjoyed the small balcony! We left early both mornings so did not enjoy the free breakfast but liked that the bar offered music on the balcony, sports on tv, games on the tables, fire pits for warmth on a cool mountain evening and free ingredients to make s'mores. They had...

We decided to check out the Rockies from the west side and it was nice and homey. The staff at Gateway was friendly and professional. We liked the downtown theatre also. We went hiking at Bear Lake and other trails in Rocky Mountain National park and too the park and ride which is the best because parking is limited. Waterfalls,...

We booked one night before driving the gorgeous Trail a Ridge Rd. We arrived at 8 pm but staff were only interested in watching a college baseball game with some other guests in the bar. Basically they just handed key, asked for signatures and went back to watching game. As we were travelling all day we asked if we could...
